Topic: Jesus said He came that we would have life and have it more abundantly…

Text: Revelation 3:20  

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.  Revelation 3:19-21 (in Context) Revelation 3 (Whole Chapter) 

Commentary: Behold my Jesus stands at the door and knock. While He can enter without opening the door, but He is calling me to receive Him, and His mission is to bring me Joy, as he said as I stand at the door and know and if I answers, He will come in and dine with me.  What a privilege this would be to sit at a table set by my Lord and to be just like when He sat at dinner with the disciples.

Just think how Jesus would bring me great news of what he has prepared for me and to give me insight of what to come? I can imagine that the table setting would be with delicacies of fruits, nectars, fishes, meat and bread.  I can imagine how He would pray over the setting and thank His Father and then feast with me as He prepared only the best.

 

Yes my Jesus has been at my door and He came because He wants to give me Peace, Joy, Hope, His Love, His care and His plan for my life.

Today as I gather with all my friends and families, I will Thank Him and Praise Him for His Graciousness knowing that it is only by His Grace that I am saved and journeying to His Kingdom, where He has prepared a place for me.

Jesus said…”I am not of this world”  what did He mean by this statement? No need to wonder about this.  He ascended to Heaven,  But He did not abandon us; He said The Holy Spirit would be with us while He went to His Father. The same Holy Spirit that descended on the day of Pentecost where 5,000 came to Jesus through Peter’s telling them the Good News, this Holy Spirit is with us right now.

Jesus said… “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them”.  Matthew 18: 20.

Jesus said we must have Faith and Faith is a belief in something unseen, He said if we have faith like a grain of mustard see, (which is the size of this . dot) we can move mountains.  Jesus spoke about mountains, and these are ‘mountains’ in our lives.. such as: Health, Finances, Families, Relationships and our love for others like ourselves.

We have heard it many times, have faith in God… this is a good saying, but it cannot save us, it is like knowing that the pharmaceutical product that is well known to cure what you may have, you know of it, but you do not have a prescription because you haven’t been to the doctor. The same principle applies you can ‘Know of’ Jesus and you also know that he can save you and give you His Peace, but you haven’t come to Him and introduce yourself to Him and ask Him to give You His Grace. His ‘GRACE’ is what saves.

His Grace is the ‘Gap’ between your  acceptance of Him as Your Savior and the time when you enter His Kingdom at which time you will be fully sanctified and free from sin forever.

Now His Grace covers a period which is  the ‘Gap’ when you are saved and have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we are still sinners but under Grace, and now that you are saved, Jesus will be your Intercessor, as we now have an advocate with Jesus.  So as an enlightened sinner now redeemed, we are like a ‘recovering alcoholic’ that lives by each day to remain sober, so we as an enlightened sinner will do the same, but we have the Holy Spirit that is now with us.  Remembering that it is not what we do that saves us, it is by the ‘Grace’ of God through His Blood.

Principle: When you know the Lord Jesus He will give you a clean heart, and He will renew your Spirit with a clear mind.

His Promise / His Faithfulness: 

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 NASB

Action/Coming to our Lord:

1 John 5:14-15

14 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

Conclusion:

We all know of the 23rd Psalm, The Lord is my Shepherd… We think it should read; I am a sheep in my Lord’s flock, and I shall not want.  While our Lord referred to himself as a Shepherd, we preferred to put this in the context that we are sheep in His flock, why? He is the Owner of the flock, and He cares for us. No, we are not re-writing the Bible Text, but our Lord is the Sovereign Eternal God, and not a ‘Shepherd’  like David who was a shepherd-boy. 

So when Jesus knocks, open the door and let Him in , His saying is faithful, and all what is stated in Psalm 23 He will do.

Prayer: 

Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord Jesus today we acknowledge that 2,013 years ago when You came to earth, You came so that we will have life and have it more abundantly. Lord we thank You for Your Covenant of Grace, and it is by Your Grace that we are saved.  Lord thank You for bring the Visitors to this site, as we are privileged to serve You and all for Your Glory Lord. Bless our Visitors and grant us all Your Peace as we thank you for Your Favors. Lord today be with us as we look to You knowing that all things work for Good to those that loves You Lord. Topic:  The streets in Heaven are paved with Gold…  but getting there we have many challenges; only by the Grace of our Lord we can reach our final destination of Splendor.

Text:  Ephesians 2:8-9  New American Standard Bible (NASB)

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Commentary: Many religious broadcasters preach that have you must have faith… and ‘Faith’ becomes the saving factor.  Why comment on this? Faith is good, but if not knowing that it is the ‘Grace’ of God that saves, not your faith, then  the message is lost.

Faith is a belief in something unseen, or having faith that we can receive the power or God’s Divine Gift, which is by the Blood of Jesus.  Grace as defined by your insurance company that the premium is due on the 10thbut the last day before the policy is cancelled is the 15th, this ‘Grace’ by man was instituted to allow for the late delivery of the mail before they cancel your coverage. In God’s schedule, His Grace is the ‘Gap’ between your  acceptance of Him as Your Savior and the time when you enter His Kingdom at which time you will be fully sanctified and free from sin forever.

Now His Grace period the ‘Gap’ when you are saved and have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we are still sinners but under Grace, and now that you are saved, Jesus will be your Intercessor, as we now have an advocate with Jesus.  So as an enlightened sinner now redeemed, we are like a ‘recovering alcoholic’ that lives by each day to remain sober, so we as an enlightened sinner will do the same, but we have the Holy Spirit that is now with us. 

By studying His word, we will find that His Word is like a lamp to our pathway that guides us to maintain the straight and narrow pathway leading us to Him.

As the Scripture Text said, we are saved by Grace, and not of anything we do.  Therefore, we need to also know that no one comes to the Father unless through Jesus Christ.  And that there is no other name by which we must be saved…

John 14:6

Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Principle: For where two or three are gathered together in His name, He is in the midst… (Matthew 18: 20)

Conclusion: 

The great commission from our Lord, is to spread the Gospel, and the Gospel is the ‘Good-News’ The following Text outlines the treasure in ‘earthen vessels’ and the greatness of His treasure will demonstrate great power from Him (God) and not from ourselves.  The Text also point out that we are to showcase Him and not have Him hidden I the Earthen Vessels. Remember the Dead-Sea Scrolls found by the shepherd boy? What a revelation that authenticated the Scriptures in many ways.

When we look at how God’s subtle ways of revealing His Truth, we must also remember that Jesus was there at the beginning of it all, and He was before Abraham, known as the ‘Father of many’ .

 

Even though we read that the sons of Jacob, Levi and Judah born to Jacob and Leah, Levi as the tribe of Priest, and Judah as the linage of Jesus, we need to know that 2013 years ago when Christ was born this was not the first time He was here, as He was at the day of Creation and in the Garden with Adam, but Jesus who was prophesized 700+ years before He was born to be crucified and suffer for our sins, Isaiah 53, His birth in Bethlehem was to come among us so that we could accept Him by coming as a Man.

2 Corinthians 4:7-18  (NASB) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So death works in us, but life in you.

13 But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed, therefore Spoke,” we also believe, therefore we also speak, 14 knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and will present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God.

16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. 17 For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Come to Jesus and receive His Assurance today, go to our Green pastures page and receive Him and we Praise our Lord for everyone that comes to the Cross and accept our Lord Jesus as their personal Savior.

Prayer: 

Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord today as we acknowledge that Your Truth is no longer hidden in Earthen Vessels, we bring You to all and Praise You as we thank You for the Visitors and this privilege of serving You Lord.  Lord bless each of our Visitors and we thank you for Your Favors and we know that all things work for the good to those that loves You Lord. Lord grant us safety as we stand up for You Lord knowing that we will never be ashamed in placing You first, as we pray  to you Lord Jesus our Redeemer and our Sovereign Eternal God in One of the Father, to You is the power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Topic:     Grace is not measured by our performances.

                Nothing we do will impress God until we come to Him and know that He is God and in Faith     accept His Grace and Salvation.

Text: 1 Peter 4:12

Share the Sufferings of Christ

12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you;

Commentary:

There are several key factors that we need to know

  1. God does not need our money
  2. God does not need our help
  3. God does not need anything from us, but He wants us to…
  4. Love Him, as Jesus said to the crowd… Mark 12: 28-31

28 One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, “What commandment is the foremost of all?” 29 Jesus answered,” The foremost is, ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord; 30 and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

The Sermon on the Mount; The Beatitudes

His Promise / His Faithfulness:

In the world, ye shall have tribulation; in me ye shall have peace.”

Conclusion:  2 Corinthians 1:5  New American Standard Bible (NASB)

For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.

The text above outlines His promise that His sufferings were ours; but He bore this burden so that we may have comfort through Him, Christ Jesus as He became a substitute for us on the cross.

Topic: It is dangerous to ignore God while we are seeking His Blessings…

Text: Romans 14:11

For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shallgive praise to God.”

so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

Commentary: The Birds and the Lilies are carefree and God takes care of them, but when it comes to man we were placed in a class by ourselves.  God made us special, he gave us dominion over all living things.  He made us in His likeness and made us ‘Joint-Heirs’ yet we ignore Him and go against His will.

But there are times when He will demand our attention, and sooner or later we will all come to Him either voluntarily or in an involuntary state.  See above Text… Every Knee shall bow to Him.

Our Lord declared that we are Joint –Heirs but being made a beneficiary we have to be ‘Born-Again’ and being born of His Grace we are now His children and are even called ‘Friends.

As we venture out this Monday and start a new week, we all have some degree of apprehension of how the week will be.  No one knows the future, and only our Lord knows the ‘next-step’ in our lives, and He knew us before we were born and when we come to Him, we are ‘Pre-destined’ and those who He pre-destined He called, and whom He call are made Heirs in Him.

 Principle:

We have the Covenant of Grace in Christ Jesus our Lord.  The promise of God is ‘Sacred’ and His Word never changes as he is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Jesus who is the Son of God and is God Incarnate as he Yeshua/Jehovah/Jesus was before Abraham, known as the father of Nations.  His promise of Redemption by His Divine Resurrection and Ascension to the Right Hand of His Father is our Intercessor and our Lord and Savior. Praise Him for His Divine Power.

His Promise / His Faithfulness:

Romans 8: 26-39

Our Victory in Christ

26 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; 27 and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33 Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. 35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? For Your sake we are being put to death all day long; We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Come to Jesus and know it is only by His Grace we are saved, it is not Faith that saves us, Faith in Him and Accepting Him is how He will save us,  Our faith can be ‘blind-faith’ but when we come to the Cross knowing that he died and Rose triumphantly, we have Victory in Him by his Grace.

Conclusion: His Grace from the Cross extended to us sinners is still valid today.  Today is the most important day in  our lives, yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come. As He said today is the day of Salvation.

Deliverance from Bondage

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Topic: You don’t have to wait till you die… Christ offers His benefits now!

Text: Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Yesterday we spoke about … a Royal Priesthood,  yes we descended from a line of that is ‘Blessed’ by God.  The Word of God said we are made Joint-Heirs in Christ Jesus.

Commentary: 

The benefits offered from Life Insurance policies are designed to provide a ‘pay-out’ upon death, there are some policies that will give you an annuity but in the first years there are no benefits, only in the event of death or disability.  God’s plan is a whole lot different… The Plan offered by our Lord differs in the following conditions:

  • God’s Plan is Free
  • The Payout is the Maximum Value far above what the best policy can provide on earth
  • The Benefits never vary
  • All are accepted
  • No Medical Examination necessary
  • Pre-Existing conditions accepted
  • No Monthly payment
  • No Financial statement of income required
  • Foreigners are accepted
  • No Expiration date
  • And the Grace Period of forever.

So how much coverage can one purchase under God’s Plan? The Maximum coverage that includes:

Full Replacement

  • Moving to a Mansion that replaces the modest home one owns and currently occupies
  • All future needs are fully provided
  • Never have to see a doctor or fill a prescription
  • Never have to worry about anything, and all your neighbors will be loving

Principle:  Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved… R9omans  10:13 NKJV

Action/Coming to our Lord:

At Calvary when the thief that said to Jesus, Lord remember me when you come into your Kingdom… This repentant person came to Christ the King that was on the Cross also, His request was made with a Contrite Heart, repenting but also knowing that Jesus was God, and he came in Faith,  his request was responded to by Jesus…Luke 23:43

And He (Jesus)  said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”

Conclusion:

Even a convicted  killer on death-row is eligible to receive forgiveness, but God’s forgiveness is not granted without repentance, what is repentance?

Note: The Text above said, It is “BY GRACE” you are saved, through (Your) Faith in Jesus, and His Salvation is from Him (Jesus) and not of anything we can do. Why? Because our ‘righteousness’ is like a filthy rag.

Prayer: 

Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord Jesus today we thank You for Your Saving Grace and we praise You for your UN-Conditional Love toward us while we are still sinners. Lord Your Divine Resurrection fulfilled the Covenant of Grace that You have extended us. Lord as we acknowledge Your Gift of Grace that Redeemed us, we are privileged to bring this Good News to others according to Your great commission.  Lord let those that visit our site be redeemed by coming to You today and let Your Holy Spirit be upon us all. We thank You for this privilege and we dedicate this endeavors to You for Your Glory and all things are made possible through You. Topic: Our heritage… a Royal Priesthood,  yes we descended from a line of that is ‘Blessed’ by God

Text: Galatians 3:29

29 And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.

Genesis 22: 15 Then the angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven, 16 and said, “By Myself I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17 indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies. 18 In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” 

Commentary:  We read in the text above, where God Swore and declare His blessings upon Abraham.   Notice the Word of God in Verse 18 above:18 In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” 

“All the nations of the Earth shall be blessed!

Today those reading this may be from many nations, rest assured that the Word of God is the same yesterday when God spoke these words to Abraham almost 3,459 years ago. On this the 8th day of March 20,13 the Word of God still stand.  Therefore we are ‘Blessed’ and we are of the ‘Seed’ of Abraham when we belong to Christ as Abraham descendants and heirs according to God’s promise. (Galatians 3: 29)

On this Saturday what more could we ask for?  Are we having difficulties due to personal needs? Bring your needs to Him and He shall fulfill them.  1. John 5: 14-15

Topic:  The most important day of your Christian Life is TODAY!

Text: 1 Timothy 2:5-6

For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.

Commentary: 

Yesterday is Gone… Tomorrow when it comes it will be ‘Today’ but the moment in time is Now! What are you doing about your Christian life?  Stop and first know that He is God,  Each day when we meet a friend or even a stranger we would say, How are You? Have you said Good Morning Lord? What are we thinking? We are thinking about Him, because He is REAL.

The chosen Praise song for today is…’My God is Real’ Yes He is real and He (Jesus) was before Abraham.  The book of Genesis started with the Creation and went onto the Garden of Eden, the Flood, Cain and Abel, Abraham, Sodom and Gomorrah, Esau & Jacob… and more.

The events of the Bible chronologically recorded the Greatness of God. When we read the Bible which is still the best seller of all times, one would gather the highlights of the events, and now focus on the most important contents of this book.  What is the most important content?  The Bible is all about Jesus, From the Creation in Genesis to the book of Revelation, Jesus is fully immersed in all of the events.

The Ten Commandments given to man is like the little book handed out when you buy a car, or is best like the safety suggestions on the card in the back of each Airplane seats.  This card will tell you not to smoke, not to try and open the escape hatch, not to block the isles etc. The Ten Commandments also provide our Conscience of what we did wrong. But conscience cannot save us, it only tells us when we did something wrong.   Just like Temptation cannot kill you nor is it a Sin, but the moment we indulge then we have sinned, and Conscience is step one of committing a sin.   Therefore when tempted, let your conscience play the most important role, and listen to your conscience and respond by saying ‘you are right and I should not do that’.

Victory is an event to be enjoyed, unless we succeed we do not have Victory to be savored, therefore let us declare that Victory is better than remorse, and the wages of sin is death. (No we did not make this up) God said…

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

What a disappointing outcome? To be paid by death…how could one choose to work and be paid by being killed? Would you take this job? Certainly not.  But we enroll for this job everyday.  So let’s stop and step out of this line and join the line that offers the Free Gift of Eternal Life offered by Christ Jesus. 

Jesus Christ our Redeemer ascended to the Throne of Righteousness and He is our Mediator. Jesus also said “No one come to the Father except through Him”

Warnings against False Teachers

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.

They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat certain foods. But God created those foods to be eaten with thanks by faithful people who know the truth. Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks.For we know it is made acceptable by the word of God and prayer.

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus our Lord and Savior we come.  Lord Jesus Eternal Sovereign God in One of Your Holy Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Sprit, today we Praise You knowing that You our Redeemer Lives. Topic: What a Privilege… Just think that each of us are ‘Called’ by God. 

Text: Romans 8:30 New King James Version (NKJV)

30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Commentary: 

In many public places such as Restaurants, Government offices, etc, we are given a number or asked to give first names then wait to be calledBut if we are not paying attention, we may not hear when they call our name or number. The same applies in class, if we are not paying attention we will not get what the teacher is telling us.

What the text of Romans 8: 30 is saying… ‘Whom” He predestined, He ‘Called’  

He (Jesus)  made reference to ‘Seek’ Him, in Matthew 6:33-34

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

You may say “I do not fit any of the category above”  If you are a parent, a physician, a banker, or a law enforcement officer, most certainly you will fit the category above, how? By teaching others . We are all sort of like a life-coach to each others by conveying the knowledge and sharing the understanding of how to handle our daily requirements. Each prescription from the doctor comes with instructions, a parent teaches the kids how to cope with pressures from peers and how to stay focused on Christ, the Law enforcement officer directs traffic and apply the law by informing the public on matters of safety, etc.

The problem with humans is that we do not like to be told what to do… so we ignore instructions. It’s like assembling the furniture, we simply open the box, and start putting it together, and then we find that we have a few pieces leftover, so we read the instructions, and guess what? We disassembly it and start all over.  In live this is pretty much the same case, we all do ‘a start-over’ and hopefully this time we read the instruction, or even heard the ‘calling’ and then followed the proper procedures.

We all heard of the ‘Straight & Narrow way’ well this takes patience and discipline to get the desired results. It is like installing a computer software, and the instructions said… Read this first! ‘Do Not install the adapter before installing the software’ but? We did not follow the ‘Read this first’ and went ahead, then? This is a Do-Over process’ and it takes longer as the software must first be ‘Un-Installed’ so in life we have to ask our Lord to “Un-Install” our sinful nature, and then ask Him to install His Holy Spirit and by His GRACE we are Saved.

Coming to our Lord and getting His Holy Spirit is a simple 1,2,3 steps, He said, Ask, Seek and Knock.

Conclusion: He is Supreme and Eternal… Jesus whom the Father made ‘The Christ’ is God Incarnate and He is First and foremost, the Bright Morning Star, the Beginning and the End, and His ending is the Beginning of what He said He went to prepare for us, a Place of Splendor that He described as Paradise. Romans 1:20

Topic: What is the best thing we can hope for? If you had one ‘Providential’ wish what would it be?

Text: 1 John 5:14-15  Amplified Bible (AMP)

14 And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.

15 And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.

Commentary: The prayers of great men were mostly done in times of impending peril.  History reflected even a prayer to have good weather so that the war can be mobilized to defeat the enemy.

Life is not a bed of roses…

We saw Jacob taking the Patriarchal blessing from Esau when he deceived his father Isaac, by claiming to be Esau…  On the lighter side of life, we read about the rich man who had in his will that all his money were to be buried with him, at his funeral his attorney asked how much money it was? And he was told ‘about a million’ so the attorney wrote a check and took the cash and said; “put the check in the grave, it is good as cash”….Now this deceased person’s last wish was ‘sort of’ fulfilled, or was ‘his’ cash high-jacked?

Life is not a bed of roses, and fortunately so…. As Rose bushes are full of thorns. Now Rose petals are soft, but they only last a few days. Just like money it last only for a while, unless we have more incoming.  The only lasting thing that we can have ‘forever’ is the Grace of our Lord. Nothing else stays around. Without money one loses most of their friends, and those we lose are really not friends indeed, so when it starts to rain all ‘fair-weather’ friends will go . and those that we have true-fellowship will be still around. Our Lord said… “I will never leave you nor forsake you”

The old saying… God moves in a mysterious way… To man it is mysterious, but to God it is a ‘Divine’ way.  Many instances in life when someone suffers a tragedy one would ask, where was God? When Stephen was stoned to death, why did God not save him? Stephen looked up and saw Jesus with open arms welcoming him home.  Now, would it be better for Stephen to be protected from the rocks and remained alive?  Or was it better for our Lord to receive him home and give him a place of splendor.  I can imagine, that our Lord was saying… look at those fools, they are fighting and killing each others for what? To gain what? To dominate their fellow men for what? This is why Jesus said… “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing” This is like watching the football game seeing your team being out-scored, but you are smiling because you already know the ending that your team won.

Talking about what is the best thing we can hope for? Did you know that many Lotto winners that won millions reverted back to poverty? In fact there is a person than won $5.2 Million and now lives in a trailer and on welfare.  What does this tell us?  Unless the Lord builds it, it will not last.

Paul the Apostle that Jesus chose to be His vessel, said…

Romans 7:24

O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?

In our daily lives, we are bombarded by the world’s distraction via, Print, electronic (TV-Internet) radio, etc. the apostle Paul in the text above was merely saying “I am a man, and I am susceptible to the temptations”.  To be tempted is not a sin, but to partake in the temptation and enter into an act of complicity is a sin.  The constant battle with the forces of temptation is not regulated to our bodies, it is our mind, so be mindful of our imaginations that we are not led astray.  In a recent piece written by Leroy Elms, he stated that his friend that contracted Polio and while he was wasting away in an Iron-Lung machine weighing less than 70 lbs, he asked him what bothered him the most, and the reply was the ‘Lustful’ thinking that went on in his mind constantly.   

Our Lord Jesus who was tempted by the devil never partook of the temptation, He overcame the wiles of the devil with the Word of God…  So there is a way for us to deal with this universal problem which is:

Psalm 119:11

Conclusion: 

We again reflect on the apostle Paul while being taken to Rome, their ship was wrecked on the island of Malta, and the event of the snake that fastened to his hand was an event that got the attention of the natives.  Here we see how our Lord not only made Paul His vessel, but He made him a prominent leader to bring the Gospel to the gentiles. 

Acts 28:3

And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. Acts 28:2-4 (in Context) Acts 28 (Whole Chapter) 

Principle: God will use men that are chosen by Him even though their background may be ‘spotty’

His Promise / His Faithfulness:

His Faithfulness- His Graciousness:

We can count on our Lord’s graciousness, and He said He will never leave us nor forsake us.  Finally we want to remind everyone that it is not Faith that saves us, it is GRACE, and only by His Grace we are saved through Faith in our Lord Jesus.

For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God;

Prayer:

Heavenly Father in Jesus we come.  Lord Jesus as our Mediator we acknowledge that unless we come through You no one comes to the Father. Lord we thank You as we stand in Faith acknowledging Your Grace; and we affirm that it is only by Your Grace that we are saved and not of anything we do. Lord we thank you for Your divine redemption. Lord today we seek Your guidance as we are weak and You are strong and by Your Grace we have Victory. Lord let Your Word be our Shield and let us be fully armed with Your sword as Your word is sharper than a two-edged sword. Lord bless our Visitors and grant us Your Favors as we seek You and give You first place in our lives. Topic: Fighting Fire with ‘Fire’

Text: Romans 8:3  New International Version (NIV)

For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,

Commentary:  In fire-fighting it is necessary to light back-fire lines to contain a raging forest fire.   The sins of mankind is like a raging forest fire, and we read in the Text above, how Jesus used this same principle to fight sin by;  He “The-Christ” becoming a sinner as an offering so that we sinners could be ‘Redeemed’ through His Atoning Blood.

He (Jesus) who knew know sin…  2 Corinthians 5:21

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 (in Context) 2 Corinthians 5 (Whole Chapter) 

When we know Jesus and are now ‘enlightened’ He said …”Be Holy because He is Holy”  so each time when we sin (Deliberately) we are placing Christ on the Cross (Again)  Remember we are all descendants of Adam, and inherently we are sinners, this doe not mean that we should continue to Sin, why? Because He came and through His Crucifixion and Resurrection we are ‘Redeemed’ , but being Redeemed we are still sinners, we are like a damaged vehicle that is now recovered from the police compound and are now repaired like new. But the vehicle may suffer another accident, and this new damage by an accidental incident was not deliberate, but truly an accident. So the Insurance paid for the damage. This is the same when we are covered by Jesus’ Assurance, the accidental sin is covered in His Blood. However, when we deliberately sin… we are mocking His Divine Sacrifice, and He said there will be no more sacrifice for such action, and then this sinner will be given over to be of a reprobate mind (Hopeless)

28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,

The meaning of a Reprobate is: Definition of REPROBATE (Webster-Merriam)

1: to condemn strongly as unworthy, unacceptable, or evil

2: to foreordain to damnation

3: to refuse to accept : reject

Principle: Romans 8: 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Conclusion:  The Gospel is Love and Grace, but the Bible also provided many severe ‘Warning’ … and these are not word of men.  This is from the same Loving God that is ready to give us His Love and to give us Eternal Life. But we have to first know the following:

 

  • That HE is God
  • That He created us
  • He came to redeem use
  • He can Save us
  • And He will not tolerate Sin
  • And we cannot Mock Him because He knows our heart and every thoughts before we utter them.
  • We are Saved by his Grace and not of anything we do

To willfully sin, we will read below, that there will be no more Sacrifice for us, and the consequences are also written below.

Hebrews 10:25-27  New American Standard Bible (NASB)

25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

 

Christ or Judgment

26 For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 

 

27 but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries.

The Bible also tells us… That our God is a God of Consuming Fire:

28 Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; 29 for our God is a consuming fire.

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Even though we are Sinners, our Lord came and through His Redemption we can have Victory, and in Him our Victory is forevermore… Romans 8 1-3 gives us this Assurance:

And: Romans 8: 37 Our Lord made us more than Conquerors…

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Topic: To be included in an ‘Exclusive gathering’  means… the exclusion of those that are ‘not included’ but being exclusive is to be selected and within a community in which those that are excluded are not present... (Such as what is described in: John 3:18: Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Philippians 4: 6: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Commentary:

In life there are certain private Clubs and Associations that you cannot get up and say I want to Join, you first have to be ‘Invited to be a Member” These are what we call ‘Exclusive Clubs’ and to be a member, you have to be sponsored by multiple members with a thorough background check… only that we have to keep paying our Membership dues.

The Ticket to the Passageway to the “Real Kingdom” is a one-Price that was fully paid by HIM… CHRIST JESUS

We all know that in a travel package, there is the Group Inclusive Tour package, this includes, air fares, ground transfer and Hotels, and sometimes a rental car.  Only that in God’s plan, this is a plan for a trip to Life-Everlasting…..

Today there is this ‘Priceless Gift” that money cannot buy.

Principle: What will we need for the Journey? It’s already provided… Why not get it?

THE BEST IS YET TO COME…

As we read the reason for His coming and the Priceless Gift that He offers, receiving this Gift is the first step to living an abundant life, as He promised that He would never leave us nor forsake us… He promised us an abundant life full of His blessings… as He taught in Matthew 6: 25 – 27

Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all His splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Action/Coming to our Lord: 

This is great news, that such a Priceless Gift is made available to everyone, but there’s also a time limit,  as we are under HIS Grace, and Grace is something un-earned and can be pulled at anytime. This is why the Lord said; ‘Today is the day of salvation’ now the bad news… if we do not accept this the future will be without that Life-everlasting that Jesus paid for at Calvary…

The time limit is clearly stated in the Bible… No one knows the time of our Lord’s return, only the Father, because our Lord Jesus is the ‘GREAT I AM’ and HE loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for us, as said in John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17: For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 

God’s word above refers to the World, but in Verse 18, we will observe that the theme here was “Whoever”  John 3:18: Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

Jesus Is the Vine—Followers Are Branches

15 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

Our Lord offered us not just a ‘Membership’ but to be enjoined with Him and be part of His foundation which is the ‘Godhead’ the giver of Life.

Because He said that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God, this is why His Redemption is a Priceless Gift, and cannot be purchased or earned.  It is also noted that the key word in the foregoing statement, was “ALL” therefore it means that no one can meet HIS Criterion of being Sinless…. To make us eligible to be redeemed, He died in our place and rose triumphantly, and by this we became eligible though HIS resurrection and He offers this today as His Priceless Gift of Salvation. Come to Him and accept His Priceless Gift…

Pray this prayer to accept Jesus: Heavenly Father I confess my sins and accept Your Son Jesus as my Lord and Savior, Lord Jesus I accept that You came and died for my sins and by your Blood of Atonement I am saved by Your Grace. Lord I confess and repent of my sins, and place my trust in You and accept You as my Divine Savior, Lord I look to You and commit my life in Your Holy Hands. Lord come into my heart and grant me Peace, in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus I pray… Amen

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come, Lord Jesus let there be a celebration in Heaven today for those coming to You and accepting Your Priceless Gift. Lord You have said You went to prepare a place for us, and where You are there will we be with You. Lord Your Covenant of a place where there will be no more sin a place fully Sanctified and exclusive with Joy and Splendor radiated by Your Holy Presence, we look with anticipation as we wait for that day when we shall see You as You are. Lord thank you for the privilege of serving You and thank you for each Visitor and for even one that came to know You through this outreach in Your Holy Name. Topic: It has been said… Necessity is the ‘Mother’ of Invention…Guess what? This is man’s saying. Read on… to see why we really never ‘Invented’ anything, we just ‘discovered’ and most times by accident.

Text: Hebrews 4:15-16 (New International Version (NIV)

15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.  16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. 

Commentary:

Back when man was living in caves, God made Spiders that had the technology of making a ‘Trap-Door’ for their habitats.  When man was trying to fish, the bears were feasting on salmon. God had to provide daily food drops to His people in the journey to Canaan. Even today there are millions still unable to feed themselves around the world, and even in this land of plenty … The United states of America!

Jesus said… “ I come so that you may have life and have it more abundantly” , so what’s the reason why so many are suffering?  The answer is simple, did we say simple? Yes… the root cause of it all is the exploitation of mankind by their fellow man.  An example in a poverty stricken nation that had an outbreak of Cholera, the life-saving medicine was shipped in and a team of physicians went to this country but the medicine was not available to be administered, why? The greed of men, they wanted to be ‘bribed’ before they would release the medicine, while hundreds were dying daily, the greedy government officials stood by with their hands outstretched looking for money.  This is an example of how many suffer from mal-nutrition and diseases that plagues the population of society.

Ill-begotten gains will soon be lost, the prayers of a righteous man prevails with far-reaching results.  The word ‘Exploit’ is mostly linked to an abusive relation, but in the language of business, the common use of Exploit is a standard operating procedure (SOP)  as an inventor is granted a Patent so that he will have the exclusivity to ‘exploit’ the invention.  This is like finding a cure for all Cancer, owning the  patent and ‘exploiting’ the users that are suffering…. But in some case a patent is also granted to exploit a form of ‘Poison’ that is sold at an exorbitant price that is supposed to render the patient ‘almost-dead’ so that the cancel cells will die, but this procedures is also killing the patient. 

Why do we spend so much time on the subject of pharmaceutical abuses? This is not a campaign against drug manufacturers, it is a campaign against greed that is deployed in a form of conspiracy, as millions are spent by these companies to ‘educate’ physicians or rather ‘indoctrinate’ doctors of how to exploit their patients. So we have capitalism using the same method of exploitation in a society where a warlord exploit his people by keeping them half-starved so that they cannot rise up against him and continuously depend on his hand-outs that is not enough to keep his people well; being half alive, but unable to think as their stomachs are empty.  

In Christendom we have some organized churches with the similar SOP {Standard Operating Procedures) they bring gatherings together but really never bringing their congregation to the Lord, by Faith in the Lord, they instill in their congregation the need to support the church, and not nurture the soul of their congregation. What are we saying?  Unless leaders start to convey the “Truth” they will never be ‘Free’ from their habits of having to raise millions to keep their bloated organization running while exploiting their church goers.  Tiding is a ‘Privilege’ that our Lord endowed to us, giving is a privilege and what we give is really not giving, we are simply restoring to our Lord what we withheld from Him as it is all His, and we are just allowed to use a portion under a Good-Stewardship plan. Good Stewardship is like using the water from the canteen in measured quantity while we are travelling in a dessert where there is no faucet at hand. 

It is like many Governments, they need more money every hour, why, because spending more than what is coming in is always a disaster in the making.  So can we say that government spending is like a drug addict?  Pretty much so, as a drug addict will do whatever to get money to support his addiction.

Let us displace ourselves from the greed, the ‘high-living’ and the campaign to exploit our fellowmen… how? By adopting the precepts of our Lord…  Seek Him First and His Righteousness, and this is what He said, and all of our needs will be given to us.  This is not a difficult SOP, why? Because God said…

He is our Shepherd and He leads us and what ever we need we will not be lacking… He leads us by Green Pastures and Still Waters by pointing us (His Rod and His Staff) our Cup will ‘Over-Flow’  He prepares a Feast in the presence of our enemies, He anoints our head with oil,  He provides only Goodness and Love for us forever…and he assures us that we will be in His house forever.

Today as millions are attending church services, let us remember the ‘Real’ reason why we attend churches… To Praise our King, not to just feed our souls, and hope for wealth.  He already knows what we need before coming.  What our Lord want from us is our Faith in Him… for His greatest Gift: Live Everlasting with HIM, just as he told the repentant thief on the cross, ‘Today you will be with me in Paradise’  His Kingdom is nothing like what we have as what we have is a ghetto with filty rags… His Kingdom is Paradise where He  reigns, so let it be done on eart like it is in Heaven while we wait for the ultimate Kingdom.  How? To Praise Him and give Him the Glory here just as we will in His Kingdom.

One day He will leave the Throne why? To come and get those waiting on Him, and the final gathering will be exclusive. The word ‘Exclusive’ means to exclude by a select inclusion. Be part of this inclusion by accepting His great Salvation as He already Paid your ransom and is ready to include you in this great ‘Exclusive Gathering’

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come, Lord Jesus today as many are gathered in Your Houses of Worship, let Your Holy presence be felt, and let the presenter of Your messages be filled with Your Holy Spirit, Lord let the hearers come forward and know that You have prepared a place for all that accept Your Priceless Gift. Lord we thank You for Your Grace and the privilege of serving You, and we ask your blessing upon our Visitors and to you Lord Jesus be the Power and the Glory now and Forevermore... Amen.

Topic:  We have to be ‘Specific’ with our requests to our Lord, even though He knows what we need before we ask, why? Read below.

Text: Matthew 20: Two Blind Men Receive Their Sight29 Now as they went out of Jericho, a great multitude followed Him. 30 And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”

31 Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!” 32 So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?”  33 They said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.” 34 So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.

Commentary:  Why do we have to be specific when asking our Lord for His favor?  So that when we receive His Favor we know it is from Him.

Notice Jesus asked them… “What do you want Me to do for you?”This was not necessary as Jesus already knew what they wanted; just like when He saw … Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me? “Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” John 1:47-49 (in Context) John 1 (Whole Chapter) 

John 1:50 Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” John 1:49-51 (in Context) John 1 (Whole Chapter)

Jesus said…”You will see greater things than these” and Great things He has done for us, and the greatest was His Sacrifice at Calvary when He redeemed us from eternal damnation. And the next great things we shall all see is what He said, “I go to prepare a place for you’” and “Where I am you may be also” just think, this place is described in  Revelation 21:18

Conclusion: Genesis 32: 9-12 NIV Then Jacob prayed, “O God of my father Abraham, God of my father Isaac, Lord, you who said to me, ‘Go back to your country and your relatives, and I will make you prosper,’  10 I am unworthy of all the kindness and faithfulness you have shown your servant. I had only my staff when I crossed this Jordan, but now I have become two camps.  11 Save me, I pray, from the hand of my brother Esau, for I am afraid he will come and attack me, and also the mothers with their children.  12 But you have said, ‘I will surely make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted.’”

Esau meets Jacob and this is a monumental event of brotherly love restored…

33 Jacob looked up and there was Esau, coming with his four hundred men; so he divided the children among Leah, Rachel and the two female servants. He put the female servants and their children in front, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph in the rear.He himself went on ahead and bowed down to the ground seven times as he approached his brother.

But Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they wept.  Then Esau looked up and saw the women and children. “Who are these with you?” he asked. 

Jacob answered, “They are the children God has graciously given your servant.”

Then the female servants and their children approached and bowed down.  Next, Leah and her children came and bowed down. Last of all came Joseph and Rachel, and they too bowed down.

Esau asked, “What’s the meaning of all these flocks and herds I met?”

“To find favor in your eyes, my lord,” he said.

But Esau said, “I already have plenty, my brother. Keep what you have for yourself.”

10 “No, please!” said Jacob. “If I have found favor in your eyes, accept this gift from me. For to see your face is like seeing the face of God, now that you have received me favorably. 11 Please accept the present that was brought to you, for God has been gracious to me and I have all I need.” And because Jacob insisted, Esau accepted it.

12 Then Esau said, “Let us be on our way; I’ll accompany you.”

13 But Jacob said to him, “My lord knows that the children are tender and that I must care for the ewes and cows that are nursing their young. If they are driven hard just one day, all the animals will die. 14 So let my lord go on ahead of his servant, while I move along slowly at the pace of the flocks and herds before me and the pace of the children, until I come to my lord in Seir.”

15 Esau said, “Then let me leave some of my men with you.”

“But why do that?” Jacob asked. “Just let me find favor in the eyes of my lord.”

16 So that day Esau started on his way back to Seir.  17 Jacob, however, went to Sukkoth,where he built a place for himself and made shelters for his livestock. That is why the place is called Sukkoth.

18 After Jacob came from Paddan Aram, he arrived safely at the city of Shechem in Canaan and camped within sight of the city. 19 For a hundred pieces of silver, he bought from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem, the plot of ground where he pitched his tent.20 There he set up an altar and called it El Elohe Israel.

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord Jesus thank you for Your everlasting love and Your divine Redemption. Lord Your desire to give us a life of Abundance we acknowledge. Lord today as we reflected back on Your choice of Jacob, and that Your plan is supreme and all events are as You have planned then, and what is planned in our lives we can in Faith say Lord ‘Let It Be Done’ according to Your Will. Lord we thank You for Your Graciousness and we thank You for Your Divine Grace that is sufficient as all things are possible in You Lord Jesus. We thank you for this privilege of spreading Your Good news and we ask Your blessings on our Visitors. Lord bless Your servants in the mission fields as we Pray in Your Holy Name,  and to you Lord Jesus is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Topic: Jacob transformed by God and reconciliation with Esau was blessed by God.

Text: Genesis 32 to 36: This text relates the historical event when Jacob prepared to meet Esau on his trip home to Canaan. Read: Genesis 32-36

Commentary: Reading this event of how Jacob was transformed by God, and how the brothers reunited and with the Grace of God Jacob was renamed Israel… (Reading about this event it gives one goose-bumps as the holy moment when Jacob wrestled with the angel all night and then blessed Jacob and bestowed upon Jacob the name Israel). But we must remember that this is the same Jacob that stole the birthright from his brother Esau.

 Our .God’s choice was Jacob so God prepared him, as we read in the Text of Genesis 32-36 how Jacob offered gifts of livestock to Esau and how Esau embraced Jacob and said to Jacob, his gift was appreciated but he had enough and Jacob should retain the livestock.  This historical event is a demonstration of true restoration a true-life depiction of reconciliation just as how our Lord Jesus offered Himself for our Sins.

Here we saw Jacob offered Esau Cattle but Esau declined to accept not because of pride, but of love and forgave Jacob for what he did. We also saw how God promised Jacob to have offspring that could not be counted and how the Lord blessed him and named Jacob Israel. We also saw the purchase of the land that was initially named Israel.  This was true History in the making.

Reflecting back to when Jacob returned from the field and was ‘famished’ as he saw Esau cooking a Red Stew, he said… let me have some of it

Was Jacob statement of dying a figure of speech? Genesis 25:  29 Once when Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the open country, famished.30 He said to Jacob, “Quick, let me have some of that red stew! I’m famished!” (That is why he was also called Edom.)

31 Jacob replied, “First sell me your birthright.”

32 “Look, I am about to die,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?”

33 But Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob.

34 Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left.

So Esau despised his birthright.

One could assume that Jacob’s statement … 32 “Look, I am about to die,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?” could be a ‘figure of speech’  as the household of Isaac would have plenty of food.

The second event of deception when Isaac blessed the wrong son.. these entire events did not change the plan of God for Jacob, as He is made them the forefathers, and the prayers of our three forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are memorialized recognizing the Goodness of our Lord.

14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.

His Promise / His Faithfulness:

The God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob is the same God that said… Call on Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know. Jeremiah 33: 3 NKJV

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Jesus who is the Sovereign Eternal God in One said.. Seek first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  Matthew 6: 33 NKJV

Conclusion: 

The events of Esau and Jacob  that too place around 3,459 years ago could just as well fit in the scrip of today’s episode of family rivalry. In the Genesis text Jacob said he met God face to face, once more we are reminding ourselves that this was Yeshua/Jesus that came to Jacob; and Jesus is doing the same for each of us today.

Lord we acknowledge that all things are temporary and even our days are numbered but You have prepared a future with you Lord through Your Divine Redemption. Lord as we bring this Good News to many, Lord let the endeavors be fruitful as it is dedicated to You and solely for Your Glory. Topic: It is a privilege to Give, Teach, help and fellowship…

Text: Acts 20:35

35 I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Commentary: The age old adage of saying ‘it is far better to give than to receive’….In many ways this is a practical application in our lives, why, sometimes what we receive can be detrimental to our well being. At one of our Service club’s meeting there was a man that gave his testimony of how he was head of one of America’s largest food purveyors and how he became an addict and lost his family, his job and became a homeless individual. He told us how he was living under a bridge in Miami. An outreach by Miami Rescue Mission found him in a derelict state and brought him to the Rescue Mission, He then told us how he found the Lord, and how he was ‘re-generated’ and became the leader of the men’s activities in the center. He was now a new person, his self esteem was restored and had it all together, he was offered his old job back, but guess what? He decided to stay and be with the mission as He wanted to serve the Lord by helping others.

The moral of the above experience points to: first, receiving the taste of illicit drugs, illicit life-style, and suffering the consequences of receiving these bad things through actions that lead us astray.  This is an example of what adversity we experience when we receive the wrong things in life.  On the contrary, Giving is a far better experience as we can share Hope, Joy, Peace and our Lord’s Salvation, and the third element is Helping others and when we do; we experience a sense of gratitude and satisfaction to see the fruit of our giving.  Giving is not just money, giving our love in brotherhood is far greater than a financial donation as giving of money  it is a temporary gift, but our lasting gift blessed with our Lord’s Grace will last forever.

Listening is a form of receiving, but in reality it is giving … defined as giving our attention, our care and our God given resources. A Good physician is not necessarily the high profile doctor that is so busy that his waiting room is filled with patients, why? he probably is treating the patients in a ‘production-line’ format, and not listening to what the patient is experiencing.  So his practice is more on the ‘gut-feel’ and assumption of what ails the person not realizing that a percentage of patients suffer from some form of symptomatic ailment… defined as: having the characteristics of a particular disease but arising from another cause.

Giving is not just handing out money, this is what the government classifies as dole (as they are doling out what was formerly known as ‘Welfare’ now re-named… ‘Entitlement’)

The Homeless population in America or even globally consists of some former successful individuals, but they fell victims to the ills of society.  Society driven my people of questionable agendas, a few days ago we spoke about the greed factor of what we referred to as the ‘Evil-Empires’ Pharmaceutical companies that produce mind-altering drugs and drugs that kills the immune system without a real cure.  So what are these money-grabbing companies selling? Poison on a large scale, poison to mind and body.  The Ritalin ® treatment for Attention deficit or hyper-active kids is as habit forming as cocaine as it produces the same ‘high’ on a different scale. So addressing the homelessness we need to weigh the circumstance of their state as many are victims of economic challenges, and issues caused by the ills of society.  But our God made us ‘Free-Thinkers’ but the glitz and barrage of media, peers and their own weakness resulted in many falling through the crack. 

Principle: When we give at the next traffic light to someone, maybe the dollar with a word of blessing will go much further that the dollar.  As the Word of Blessing is the real ‘Seed’ that can bear fruit in the life of the recipient.

Conclusion:

If someone comes to you and ask for help, and you grant him a favor, then come the following week the same person shows up again, do we tell him that what we gave was not to be a weekly handout. Would you do: a] Give him another donation, b] turn him away, or c] give him another gift and talk to him about Matthew 6: 33, Approach ‘C” would be proper approach; as clearly this person is not seeking any help other that those he can prey on.  By telling him about finding and trusting the Lord, then he will be able to Pray to the Lord and when his Faith is found he will have answers to his prayers rather that having to ‘prey’ on others.

To be able to give is a blessing and a privilege granted by our Lord.  Remember do not turn someone that ‘asks’ (Physically approached you and asked)… versus the guy with a sign hung around his neck that simply says, ‘Homeless’ because the Bible said…  Ask and it shall be given, the guy with the sign is really not asking, he is ‘advertising’ and his action is rather impersonal.

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord according to Your Word, Ask, Seek and Knock, “ASK” we come and ask Your Divine Blessings on us all. Lord today as we step out in Faith we give You our Praises and acknowledge that You are on the Throne of Righteousness and You are returning as the Bible states that there will be a ‘Day of the Lord’ and that day is reserved by You as we seek to be prepared by Your Grace. Lord we thank you for Your Graciousness and Your Divine Redemption. Lord we are privileged to serve you and we thank You for the Visitors and we ask Your blessings on each and every one. Lord grants us Your Peace and leads us to Green Pastures and Still Waters as we place all in your hands Lord. We pray in your Holy Name Lord Jesus and to you are the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Topic:  There is Murphy’s Law which is really a ‘Loser’s law’ as negative thinking breeds negative outcome.

Text: In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 1 John 4:9NKJV

Commentary: 

The so called Murphy’s Law was born at Edwards Air Force Base in 1949 at North Base. Murphy's Law ("If anything can go wrong, it will") It like erasing your bank balance and changing it to “ZERO” or like the song American Pie? Which says… today is the day I will die. Only losers talk like this; maybe the use of negative objectives should say… now that we do not allow the Bible to be read aloud in school, and pray in the name of Jesus, whatever will go wrong is already wronged.

The Good News is that we are Chosen by our Lord… as He said: 1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

We need to know that our Lord never changes, Whom He called before us, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob approximately 3,400 years ago, today He is calling us in the year 2013.

How can we adopt a set of rules that pre-determine the outcome to be negative? how would this guy Murphy react to what Romans 8: 1-9

Conclusion: Just like on the day of Pentecost when Peter was transformed from a timid disciple as he denied Christ when accosted, he even cursed the Lord. Acts 1:8 New King James Version (NKJV)

Five years ago when I joined Bible Study fellowship classes, I will never forgot the sincere way of how the precepts of our Lord and savior were presented. This is a 'Special' gift.  Many of us do not like public speaking, but when we speak we are not doing public speaking, we are just like an echo giving the sounding  for our Redeemer by spreading His Good-News. Once we stay with His 'script; we can't go wrong, because? It is the truth and the truth will set the listeners Free! 

Last night the lecture focused on… we can only come to GOD through Jesus His Son whom He made 'The Christ' as He is God in One, as no one has ever seen God... This was good to be expounded as to many growing up God and Jesus may have presented some miss-identity, as some churches never end or pray with the salutation of coming in Jesus' Holy Name. (And guess what? those that delete Jesus from their prayers are praying to a 'closed-door' ) 

Fellowship in Jesus:  Our Mondays are a perfect gathering for the guys that not just study his Word but it is a great outreach to bring us in the presence of our Lord. Where two or more are gathered He is in our Midst, He said because He is Holy we should also be (or at least try harder) I guess being holy does not mean to be somber, because JOY is mentioned 244 times in the KJV. And His kingdom is a place of Splendor and Joy, because He is the King of a place He personally called "Paradise" (Malibu Beach, Hollywood, Jackson Hole and even Buckingham palace are all ghettos  as Where He is on the Throne is where his chosen will be)

Philippians 3: 20... Our citizenship is in heaven, and we are eagerly waiting for our Jesus.   Now this is something to be BOLD about.. Paul was probably 'Boasting' about this heavenly privilege to the Philippians.

Principle: What a privilege that we have in Christ, to have Victory and an abundant life, here and in Glory in Him.

Topic:  Faith, Love and Trust in Action…

Text: Matthew 22:37-39

37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

Commentary: There is a story of a young married couple that took a trip up the mountains. While they were picking flowers on a steep slope, the young wife slipped and almost fell over a ledge just as she was about to fall to her death, she grabbed hold of a shrub, which was able to stop her from going over the cliff. After a great deal of effort her husband succeeded in reaching the  ledge in a position near the shrub, he reached down but he could not reach her arm, so he said “stretch you other hand to me and let go of the bush, and I will be able to grab your arm “ she frightfully said I will surely fall.  Her husband urged her to let go and do as he said and stretch your other hand towards me then I can rescue you, as there is no other way for me to save you.. for a second  she thought she would surely die, as she saw nothing but the deep ravine. Then trusting in the word of her husband the wife let go and did as he said, just as she let go, the powerful hand of her husband grasped her and pulled her up to safety..

Each one of us face similar danger in our lives. Danger is always eminent, even our daily routine workplace our lifestyle and going from point “A” to “B” requires choices to stay safe. Yesterday we spoke about Trusting God and placing Him first by giving Him the First Fruit. We even laid out a plan that is built on ‘Faith’ this same leap of faith that the young wife had to take in order to be saved from going over the cliff.

Unless we surrender and believe in Faith that our Lord is in charge; and His Goodness prevails in our lives to those that seek Him we cannot be rescued.

Conclusion: Whatever we dedicate to our Lord we are just giving to Him what he gave us.  So understand that He is Gracious and He is Faithful and just, and He has allowed us to use a portion of what is all His.

Topic: Surrender to the Goodness of our Lord, of all His creation, only man  mistrust Him

Text: Matthew 6:33-34

New International Version (NIV)

33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Commentary:  The bird have no pantry, no house, no asset of any kind, but they are the happiest creatures on earth, the cattle have no means of getting their own fodder, only grazing the fields and looking for water, yet they do not rebel. Man in our finite thinking is impatient with God, we demand everything and then gives Him our left over.

The precept of our Lord was laid out for us in the simplest form, Just Accepts His Righteousness and acknowledge that he is God.  What is written was not for an oxford scholar to decipher, not does it take a rocket scientist to understand… Seek Him first and His Righteousness.

Luke 12:22-31

Do Not Worry

22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!  29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them.  31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

This is a challenge to us all, let us go through this week understanding that; what we seek is not solely for our own use, what? Let us proceed under this principle… What we receive from here on will be treated as “In-Trust’ for His mission in which you are the ‘Trustee’ and under this Trusteeship, you will have a life contract, meaning that what He has entrusted you with; you will have the use for: Household budget, Transportation, Schools, Utilities, Food, Personal needs, Taxes and a contribution to a retirement plan. But before all of these expenses are allocated the ‘First Ten (10%)” of the Gross is set aside in a Fund that is called ‘Mission’.

Many self employed will not have the discipline to conform to this due to the income fluctuation, some will have more than ample resources available.  Even if we cannot fund the allocation, let us see at then end of one month the status of ‘Cash balances or deficits.   The rule is the first 10% is set-aside and not co-mingled as this is considered the account of our Lord.  This formula will not work if all we have to work with is the ‘Money’ it only works when it is applied in a combination of Faith, Trust, and a component that will not cost you a penny… His Righteousness to be applied in our daily walk.

The writer know a person that on most days he and his brothers and mom had no food, no money but just some ‘barren mountain land’ they never wavered, their faith in God was always there through the leanest of times, one day they found out that their barren mountain land had the richest vein of Low-Sulfur Coal, I believe they went from nothing to  a Million Dollars per week. But they always brought the ‘First-Fruit’ to the Lord. …

No; this is not becoming a prosperity site… We just want to share the instruction of Jesus so that we can all be as comfortable as His little birds that sing all day, rain or shine.

Principle: God doesn’t need our money because it is already his, He only allowed us the use of it. He needs faithful Stewards.

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Confidence and Compassion in Prayer

14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

Conclusion: 

We must be careful when we try the formula above, it cannot work without Faith, Trust and one of the key elements… Humbleness, this means in the line items of transport, housing, etc., we must not go overboard, if we do  this is an act of doing self-exaltation to out do the neighbors and make these earthly essentials like idols.

His Promise / His Faithfulness:

Philippians 4: 6 NKJV  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come.  Lord Jesus our Sovereign Eternal God in One of the Father, we come and thank You for Your Grace and for Your specific instruction that we are to come in Faith, accepting You and knowing that You are our Redeemer. Lord Your Unconditional Love for us overwhelms us as we are undeserving of Your providence. Lord We thank you and give You first place as we seek to serve You for Your Glory. Lord thank You for this privilege of bring Your Good News as we host our Visitors in You Holy Name. Lord let Your Grace be upon us all and let Your Favors be released as we acknowledge that all things are Yours and we are custodians and let us be good stewards that Your resources will be deployed for Your Glory. Lord take this day and grant us Your Peace as we pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus and to You is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Topic: A strong mind is not perturbed by gossip, lies and infringements, only a weak mind is troubled by little things.

Text: Nahum 1:3  (NIV) The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power."
The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished.
His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.

Nahum was a little known prophet that predicted the destruction of Ninevah. This is Syria… as we read that Jonah was sent by God to preach to the people of Ninevah, and most of us know the story of Jonah and the Whale.

 

Commentary:  Just think, how do we react to being cut-off in traffic? Some times it is not a case of being cut-off, have you ever stopped to let a driver out to allow him to merge, and then he stops in front to try and go to the center lane? Now at this point one would say why did I do this? After missing the green light then it really becomes an irritation.  This is when one would say...”no good deed goes unpunished”  Really?  Just look at the flip side, maybe this person that delayed you for a minute and he did stop you from going  to the intersection where you would be broad-sided by a semi-trailer.  Providence comes in many ways. A pilot that did not show up for work, missed his flight, and that evening the plane went down.  You went to the store to buy a product and it was sold out, so the manager gave you an upgraded model for the same price. Every disappointment has a silver-lining, we just have to recognize it.

There are disappointments that we sometimes experienced and most times these are ‘self-inflicted’ when we cross the line, take things into our hands, acts in a fool-hardy way and ignore God’s precepts. Just like when Abraham listened to Sara and slept with Hagar and produced Ishmael. As we saw that God said, Ishmael would be like a ‘Wild-Donkey’ and be at odds with many….The actions of man have caused  us to have many on-going travesties. What if Eve did not listened to the serpent’s temptation and refused the fruit?  Would Eden still be there? This is a tough question as we look at society today, with man’s so-called ‘ingenuity’ we would for sure mess up sooner or later.

We believe that we can do many things, including improving God’s creation.. so we recall the story of man telling God that he can improve the specie to make more production, more pest resistance and produce higher volume, so God said, start… “but do not use anything that I made, the water, the seed, soil, or sunlight, get your own”. So where do we start?  Maybe with a screwdriver we can turn a screw but we can’t make water, not even if we capture it from steam or condensation, this is not man made it is still God-Made. So we should resign ourselves to what God called us… Little worms.! But after our empty self exaltation that is still zero, our Lord loves us in spite of all our bragging and self elevation and claims.

So today claim the Power of our Lord as He said… For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.2 Timothy 1:6-8 (in Context) 2 Timothy 1 (Whole Chapter) 

Let us use the Sound-Mind that He endowed us with, and follow His calling, this is to bring the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

Principle: The two great commandments are, 1] To love Thy God  and;  2] To love your neighbors. And, His great commission is to go into the world and proclaim His salvation.

Conclusion:  Many of what Job mentioned below is a mirror image of what we have experienced. Read on and it would appear that he is writing about us. …  What Job is saying refrain from these by following his examples.  Job was a righteous man, and the book of Job is one of the oldest in the Bible.  We need to learn from Job, and especially when his wife said to him ”curse the Lord and then die” but instead he reasoned with God and God restored him.

JOB 31: 

“I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman.

For what is our lot from God above, our heritage from the Almighty on high?
Is it not ruin for the wicked, disaster for those who do wrong?
Does he not see my ways and count my every step?

“If I have walked with falsehood or my foot has hurried after deceit—
let God weigh me in honest scales and he will know that I am blameless—

if my steps have turned from the path,  if my heart has been led by my eyes, or if my hands have been defiled,

then may others eat what I have sown,  and may my crops be uprooted.

“If my heart has been enticed by a woman,  or if I have lurked at my neighbor’s door,
10 then may my wife grind another man’s grain,
 and may other men sleep with her.
11 For that would have been wicked,
   a sin to be judged.

Prayer: 

Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord Jesus knowing that no one comes to the Father unless through You Lord, we come in Your Holy Presence to thank you for Your Grace. Lord let us be like Abraham and Jacob those you have chosen because of Righteousness and Grace.Lord while we like Abraham are Your Creation and are all counted as sinners, but Your Righteousness was endowed to us and now that You Lord have paid it all at Calvary, we can claim Victory in You Lord Jesus. Lord You said Your Yoke is light and we acknowledge this as we shall abide by Your precepts of seeking You first and Your Righteousness and through your Grace our needs will be satisfied. You have said that You are with us and You have prepared a table in front of our enemies and our cups overflows, Lord we thank You and seek to reconcile through Forgiveness all our Trespassers as You have forgiven us our trespasses and in Faith Lord we stand knowing that you are God. Topic:  Why Did Jesus the Almighty Yeshua come? Why did He willingly go to the Cross?

53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.

Commentary: These are the key words that we need to understand:

  • God                  : No one has ever seen God, except Jesus,.
  • Incarnate      : Jesus is the Incarnate Son, who is God in One of His Holy Trinity
  • Trinity            : This is the Triune of Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • Remission     : To Re-Admit, because mankind was evicted from the Eden, we need to be readmitted
  • Redemption : To Pay a price to be Redeemed, to ‘Buy-back’
  • Sacrifice         : Jesus made His Sacrifice to Redeem us by His Atoning Blood
  • Divine            : ‘From God’’
  • Forgiveness :  No one can forgive ‘Sin’; Sin is an inherent ‘pre-condition’ that we inherited from Adam
  • Grace             : The Grace of our Lord is what He offered us to be Redeemed
  • Holy Spirit     : The Power of His Holy Spirit will be an In-Dwelling Comforter when we accept Jesus
  • Eternity         : A place where we will be, in one of two places
  • Damnation    : A Place where one is separated from God forever, and in a state of dying but never dead
  • Splendor        : A state in a place where Jesus described as ‘Paradise’

Cleansed by the Blood is an action of purification done by the High Priest before coming to God.  This is an old tradition done inside what is called the Inner-Sanctum of the Temple.  Jesus said “It-is Finished” and the dividing curtain (Wall) of the Temple was torn revealing Him as our ‘High-Priest’ why? Because His Blood was shed for all, and all that come to Him and accept Him; His Blood becomes His SEAL of Redemption, this is the ‘PAID-IN-FULL” Stamp that He purchased us and we are now aboard with Him and is Heaven bound.

Does this mean that because Jesus died and His blood was shed for us all, and by His action we are ‘automatically’ saved? NO! The parallel is: If someone comes to the door of your house and offer you a pot of Gold but you did not take it, so this person moves on, what happened? You just lost your opportunity.  While the Priceless Gift of Salvation through Jesus is free, unless you accept it you cannot possesses it.

You cannot earn it, purchase it or work your way to get it. It is only by His Grace that we can receive His gift, and it is only in Faith that you can come to Him.

This Easter as we commemorate the Crucifixion of Jesus ‘The Christ’ at Calvary, we need to know that Jesus was not a new kid on the block… This same Jesus is the Yeshua/Yahweh who walked with Adam in Eden.; but He had to come to Redeem us as Adam sinned and this sin was transferred down to all that came after Adam.

Therefore, you me and everyone are descendants of this man Adam, but nothing surprised our God, and He made a provision for us to be Redeemed. Why did God go to this extent to Redeem us? Because we are His creation, and of all His creations, when He created Man, He said ‘This is good’ and he loved us, and he still loves us.

If you are experiencing challenging times and other difficulties in live, you may ask…If He loves me why am I in this state? I need a Job, I need money and I need to get a life.   This is the description of one that is not ‘Fully experiencing His Grace’  There are multiple reasons why we have challenges…

First we are disciplined by God, why” because He loves us, if He did not care then he would write you off and just say Romans 1:28  And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Because of His Unconditional Love, God provided a way for us to have Eternity with Him. The key factor here is; “With Him”  why, because all things were created for HIM. Even us, but He gave us a Free-thinking mind’ and not as slaves.  The Scriptures said, God gave us a Sound Mind, with Power… 2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Now one may ask, why did God provide the ‘Tree of knowledge’?  Why,  unless we knew the difference between good and evil, then we would be just like zombies… but we were created in His likeness, and this is why God gave us the Ten-Commandments, which is impossible for man to keep. If God knew that we could not keep these then why were they  given? Because it is live knowing that at the end of the road, there is a steep drop-off over a cliff… unless there was a sign placed prominently warning us, we would just drive over the cliff.  But is we ignore this warning then what? We pay the consequences of being killed, but God loved us so much he provided a way for us to either take the warning and stop, but if we act stupid and go over, He also knew that our will power is weak, and when we fall, He provided a way for us to survive the fall, if we come to Him before we make impact.

There is no way we can buy insurance after the impact, but we can secure coverage before the impact.  His Grace also provided a way for us to accept Him while everyone will make that final impact and on that day those with His SEAL are ‘Wrapped in Grace’ .

Principle:  Eden Restored will be a place like no other, as described in Revelations, its wall was like Jasper and like glass made of Gold…

Eden Restored

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Commentary:  The recent trend on  TV commercials for  pharmaceutical drugs are written by Lawyers and not Madison Avenue marketers.  Just listen to the warning of the side effects.  In so many words the side effects can harm you more than what the medicine could do to cure any ailment that it was intended for.   The GREED factor of pharmaceutical companies have crossed the boundaries of trust. And many are inflicting just as much harm to the population as the illegal drug pushers, they are just about equally as dangerous.

Advancements in Medicine are being made and truly there are break-through cures but many of these remedies are pointing to stuff we may find in our gardens and our pantries.  But the drug manufacturers of today are driven by Wall Street, as we can see many un-tested products are oftentimes recalled due to death of a consumer.  The fierce competition for market share is out of control., as they place more emphasis on earnings versus delivering a product that is supposed to help the patients. 

The recent ‘Big-News’ of shooting and the use of these event to create gun-control laws by our not-so bright law makers is like what is often said about ‘Re-Arranging the Deck Chairs on the Titanic’ when we should be checking the charts and the life-safety of the passengers.  The ‘out-of control’ behavior of people going beyond the point of no-return we could attribute many to be on medication.  In schools many kids’ behavioral patterns and habits of ADHD or even extreme introverted attitude can be summed up to be Autistic, and the ‘Trigger-happy’ provider of ‘RITALIN’ ®medication in schools are these legal drug-pushers.  Like cocaine, Ritalin is a powerful stimulant that increases alertness and productivity. Ritalin and cocaine also look and act the same. Both have a similar chemical structure, and both increase dopamine levels in the brain. They do this by blocking a dopamine transporter protein responsible for the reuptake of dopamine at the synapse. The consequence of this we all know, as America is the largest customers of Cocaine and we blame the drug lord for ‘pushing their dope on us’ If demand drops there will be no suppliers. We certainly do not see anyone rushing to maker Slide Rules as a $4.99 Scientific calculator can give you the same answer and more.

Gone are the days when ‘Take an Aspirin and call me in the morning’  but it doesn’t take a rocket science to see where these drug manufacturers have taken the nation to. There are more Drug stores than grocery stores, there are more school shootings and juvenile gun issues, there are more suicides and general violence that can be traced to the root causes by pharmaceutical medicines.  But our government is going against control guns and not the mass-distribution of ‘Legal-Substances’ that should be really illegal-substances. Why would you take a medication for skin blemishes but end up with Lymphoma?  One of the ‘Fair-Warning’ side effect said taking this medicine can cause Cancer…. Great, why would they have a license to sell this? is it because they made the disclosure, then the cocaine dealer may have the same rights if they tell the public that you can die from cocaine.  Our Lord said, be in the world but not be a part of it.

Our blog this morning is not intended to divert from our spiritual mission. The reason why, we want to say,  when we stray from the precepts of our Lord, this is the end product.= Greed.

Principle: But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written; "Be holy, because I am holy." - 1 Peter 1:15-16

The ruling peace of Christ in the heart is not supposed to be an optional extra (Colossians 3:15).

Conclusion:

The ‘evil-empire’ has penetrated every areas of our lives… how much more can we take? or how much more will our Lord allow?

Topic: Can you recall the bleakest day in man’s history… which was it?  A) Pearl Harbor; B) the Crash of 1929;  C) Day one of World War 1 & 2, or in recent time 911 World Trade Towers?

Text: Isaiah 53: 7. He was oppressed and afflicted,
    yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
    and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
    so he did not open his mouth. 

Commentary: 

 

To many American most of the above could be in the bleakest day’s category… but to cap it all, the day Jesus was Crucified, almost 1,980 years ago at Calvary. (The year is calculated based on 2013 – 33, Christ was crucified at age 33 and our calendar is based on His Birth 2,013 years ago)

As time is fleeting by; 1,980 years ago is ancient. Recently I opened one of the clocks on the mantle and the date read…made in ’35, this by an American clock manufacturer ‘Ansonia’ this company went out of business in the turn of the century, the actual date is 1835, maybe they thought they would never  see the year 1,900. So the date did not feature which century, just the years. 

Jesus’ crucifixion was physically the bleakest day as the Sun went dark for three (3) Hours, (Never repeated since)  But the Good News is this was the day that Man was Redeemed from eternal Damnation.

The Good News is, He Paid-It-All by His Atoning Blood.  The Crucifixion was more savage than the sacrifice of the Burnt-Offering when a Lamb would be sacrificed.  The Pre-Crucifixion beating, mocking and painful punishments rendered to our Savior was totally foretold 700 years ago before Jesus came to earth.

Principle: Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. - John 8:32

Action/Coming to our Lord:

We must come to our Lord daily in Prayers, it is like some pumps that drains dry and require ‘Priming’ a good example of this is as stated by Charles Spurgeon….You have heard it said, that when a pump is dry, you must pour water down it first of all, and then you will get water, and so, Christian, when thou art dry, go to God, ask him to shed abroad his joy in thy heart, and then thy joy shall be full. Do not go to earthly acquaintances, for you will find them Job's comforters after all; but go first and foremost to thy "God, that comforted those that are cast down," and you will soon say, "In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul."

Prayer: 

Heavenly Father in Jesus our Redeemer we come. Lord Jesus we thank You for Your Grace, Your Love and for Your Sacrifice made for us. Lord just like how You provided a substitution for Isaac by the Lamb, You Lord Jesus went to the cross instead of us Lord. Lord had to be substituted as we are ‘blemished’ and could not be offered to God the Father. Lord without Your Divine Sacrifice we could not be saved as it is only by Your Grace Lord that we are Saved and not of anything we do. Lord we thank You and in Faith place all in Your hands. Lord bless our endeavors and bless the Visitors and grants us Your Favors. Lord we Pray in your Holy Name Lord Jesus and to You be the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Topic: Our Lord came as a Humble Servant, yet HE is the Creator, He said we can Boldly come to Him

Text: Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Commentary: To be Bold but yet Humble is a delicate balance. Our Lord Jesus managed this well among men.  He even said to His disciples that He is their friend.  This is a major statement coming from Jesus who is God Incarnate. Just think, that HE trust us and loves us so much that He extended His ‘Friendship’ while HE is LORD GOD ALMIGHTY…

Today Jesus is still our friend as He is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever. Because in His Gospel He has revealed all things, and He said… Galatians 4:7

Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Ephesians 2:19

[ Christ Our Cornerstone ] Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

While our Lord is a Loving God, we need to keep in mind His ‘Warning’ just like his warning to the Israelites in the wildness going to the Promised Land, these are still His principles.  Note: God knew the nature of man, and in verse 12- 18 below clearly stated the future, and in Verse 19 and 20 HE tells us how He intended to deal with this.  This applies to us today as in this journey on earth it is the same as being in the wilderness as we journey to His Kingdom that he promised. His Kingdom is a place far greater than Canaan and it won’t be necessary to dig for copper out of the hills in Canaan, as His Kingdom is lined with Gold.

Deuteronomy 8: 10 When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you. 11 Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. 12 Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down,  13 and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied,14 then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 15 He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. Topic:  His Invitation to come to His Gathering… The Good News is; His Invitation still stands and He is ready to meet.

Text: Isaiah 1:18 New King James Version (NKJV)

18 “Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool.

Commentary: How could we reason with our Almighty?  Have you ever been in a debate? Have you ever been questioned in a public hearing?   The Lord said think not of what you will say when brought up before a council of men. 

Having experienced being brought before a zoning council to give an account why our office trailer on a ranch was erected where we placed it. We later learned that it was considered to be in violation of code.  We brought no expert or engineers, we showed up and when they said the building had to be moved 500’ from the road, we said OK, we will, but first get everyone else with their building also moved 500’ back, and when they do, we will comply.  The ruling was overturned as we felt that we were the only new guys on the block and we were singled out. So the end result was; our building was allowed to stay in place.

A meeting with our Lord will be a totally different scene, as we have ‘No-Excuses’ and we are ‘Guilty as charged’ … a Sinner  coming from a chip off the old block of Adam.  Our Lord did not over-look this flaw, but He ‘Forgave’ us  and not only allowed us to live, but He wanted us to have an abundant life.

The ‘Prince of Prophets’ Isaiah wrote the above over  2,713 Years ago.  And His invitation still stands. As told to the Prophet Isaiah   The only change of scene that we have is that it is not King Hezekiah fighting the Syrians.  The battle today is not with horses and chariots, spears and shields, but we have ‘Cyber-Attacks’ Drones, Nuclear Subs and many tactical weapons and surveillance systems that are still un-disclosed.  One of the most profound statement made in favor of His people, God said…”No weapon formed against us will prosper”  we also have His assurance that we are Joint-Heirs with Him.

A few days ago we asked the question what more do we need to know about Jesus?  Today we are not asking, we are telling , we are affirming His Invitation and His Assurance of our sins being washed as white as snow, and He is our Eternal God, and He is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever.

Principle: Yes we can trust Him to deliver what He said, and in all instances, He said, be faithful, be a loving being, be forgiving, be humble and be His ambassador.

Boldness with Humbleness, these are the characteristics of being His Ambassador.  We can Boldly come to our Lord, and we can Boldly claim Victory in Him.

Topic: Come to Him without any ‘Pre-Condition’ just come as “You-Are’

Text: Romans 8: 1617 New King James Version (NKJV)

16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

Commentary:  Jesus did not make any pre-condition for us to come to Him, There are no intermediate pre-condition when Jesus said “I came to save Sinners”.  He was not looking for ‘smart’ sinners, young or old sinners, enlightened sinners or sinners that are pre-conditioned by any religious preparation. All HE said was…”Come unto to me”

So if you are in a group or a church that require you to be ‘pre-conditioned’ before you are Saved, then the group or church needs to be saved first, as they are placing conditions on the Salvation of Christ.

When Peter spoke at Pentecost and 3,000 came to Christ, there were no ‘Pre-Condition’ ; when Billy Graham extends the invitation the only pre-condition is to accept Jesus and to do it publicly… You can come to Jesus right now without anyone, no any pre-arrangement needed as He is standby to receive you.  The ‘pre-condition’ of one self is already established, we are all sinners, and the steps to Assurance of being Saved are:

  • Know  that God created you and He has a plan for you and He loves you.  Psalm 100: 3, 
  • Recognize that He is God Almighty, and we are made in His image.  Acts 17: 24-31
  • Admit to yourself and to God that you are a sinner, and that Jesus who is God Incarnate came to Redeem you and by his Blood of Atonement you are Saved.  Romans 3: 10-12,  Romans 3: 20-23, James 2: 10
  • Repent of your sins, even name them specifically, ask the Lord to come into you heart and let His Holy Spirit guide you.  Matthew 10: 32-33,
  • Confess Christ as Your Lord and Savior, now that you have received the greatest gift that you will ever receive, go and tell others of how they can also receive this Divine Gift of Salvation. Especially your loved ones that you want to have the circle be un-broken so that all will be together in His Kingdom, a place of Splendor filled with Joy.  Acts 1: 8, Romans 10: 9-10
  • Dedicating yourself to pleasing God and doing His will. If you Know Him you will love Him, as He first loved you, and the Unconditional Love of Christ will flow through you to others.  Romans 12: 1-2

Study and Mediate on God’s Word and talk with God in prayers in Jesus name, Join with others in Communal Worships, ask the Lord to guide you to a church where you will have spiritual growth and fellowship with other believers.

Praise God for every sinner that comes to Christ, as the Angels will celebrate in Heaven for every new Soul that will be a new creation in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.

Principle:  Self Denial… Galatians 2: 20. NKJV

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me…

His Promise / His Faithfulness:

His Salvation… But God demonstrates His love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us… Romans 5: 8 NKJV

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Come to Jesus and the above Text should say… While I am still a sinner, You Lord demonstrated Your Love to me (Insert name here):_________________ and while I was still a sinner You Lord Jesus died for me….

Conclusion: Today we are coming to our Lord Jesus revisiting and acknowledging His Unconditional Love and His Divine Grace. As we go in faith facing this new week we are renewing our Faith and re-tracing His desires for each of us.

Let us be armed with His Shield of Faith and be dressed in the full armor of our Lord to defy the forces of this world… as He said Greater is He that is in us than the one in this world….

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God,  that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6: 12-15

Prayer:

Heavenly Father in Jesus we come, we dedicate this day to You Lord as we go in Faith and be armed with Your Armor. Lord, bless our Visitors and grant us all Your divine Favors as we thank You for Your Graciousness… Lord we are reminded of the poor lady that came and said…”Even the dogs deserves the crumbs from the table of it’s master” but You our Lord has been Gracious and given us much more that the ‘crumbs’ and we thank You Lord for an abundant Life in You. Lord Jesus we pray and we give you the Power and the Glory now and forevermore…Amen.

Topic: The Promise Granted Through Faith

Text: Romans 4: 13- 22.  13 For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, 15 because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression.

16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” 19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

Commentary:  Among all of what we are given by our Lord, His Grace and His Redemption, but He also gave us … a Spirit of Power and of Love and of a Sound mind… 2 Timothy 1: 7

His Spirit is with us when we apply Faith in Him, just like when Moses and  Aaron went to Pharaoh and said “let my people go”  The arrogance of the Pharaoh was over run by the Power of the Lord.  So we see that when we place our Faith in our Lord, He will never let us be ashamed in Trusting Him.

Exodus 7: 1

Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.  

Faith is magnified in our Prayers… for He said; Where two or three are gathered together ‘In My Name’ I am in the midst of them. Matthew 18: 30 NKJV   Paul wrote to the Ephesians (Ephesians 3:30 NKJV) Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us. † Note: the text said ‘all that we ask or ‘think’ according to the ‘Power’ that works in us… The Power comes by Faith and by His Grace. We cannot earn a degree in Faith, no Seminary or college can bestow this on you. You may have a Doctorate in Divinity but without Faith you are powerless.

The Power of the Lord was bestowed on Peter, this same follower of Christ that denied Jesus three times at the crucifixion, but Jesus said He would send His Comforter ‘The Holy Spirit’ and as we see on the day of Pentecost Peter preached and 3,000 came to Christ.

Our Lord knew our sinful nature and by the Grace of our Lord Jesus that by His Sacrifice of His Atoning Blood we are Saved; but being Saved we are still sinner as we are in the Flesh, and this is why Jesus is our Mediator, as He constantly seek the Father’s forgiveness for our sins, and by His constant Sanctification we are forgiven. Therefore walk in His Spirit by coming to Him as he said ‘Pray without ceasing’… God’s Divine Care is demonstrated here;  Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand… Isaiah 41: 10 NKJV

Principle: Be the ‘Temple of the Lord’  Honor Him as He said…

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Faith Triumphs in Trouble

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Christ in Our Place

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Death in Adam, Life in Christ

Action/Coming to our Lord:

God gave His people these assurance over 700 Years before Christ came to earth born of a Virgin.  While this text said ‘When you pass through the Waters “I will be with you” this is Jesus , the same Jesus that jammed the wheels of Pharaoh’s chariot as the Israelites went through the Red Sea. We can trust in Him as He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Our Lord Jesus is the Eternal Sovereign God. In One of the Father/Creator in His Holy Trinity.

Heavenly Father we come in Jesus our Eternal-Sovereign God in Your Holy Trinity. Lord Jesus as You are our only Mediator between us and our Father, Lord we seek Your Divine intercession for our sins, Lord until that day Lord when we shall be fully sanctified forever in Your Kingdom where sin will lo longer be present as You our Lord will Reign Supreme and we will be transformed in a place of splendor. Topic: Relationship: It’s a Two-Way Street, and it takes two to make an ‘Agreement’

Text: Hebrews 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Commentary: We asked our Lord to remain with us and He said…”I will never leave you nor forsake you” but He also asked us to do the same. The covenant of the Lord made at Calvary provided His Forgiveness of our Sins, and Sanctified by his Blood of Atonement.   The Covenant of our lord is more than a ‘Binding Agreement’ it is irreversible and eternal. 

Definition of COVENANT

1. a usually formal, solemn, and binding agreement 

2.  a written agreement or promise usually under seal between two or more parties especially for the performance of some action

In the Hebrew scriptures, an agreement or treaty among peoples or nations, but most memorably the promises that God extended to humankind (e.g., the promise to Noah never again to destroy the earth by flood or the promise to Abraham that his descendants would multiply and inherit the land of Israel). God's revelation of the law to Moses on Mount Sinai created a pact between God and Israel known as the Sinai covenant. In Christianity, Jesus' death established a new covenant between God and humanity.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

His Promise / His Faithfulness:

Psalm 25:14

14 The Lord confides in those who fear him;
    he makes his covenant known to them.

Notice: Our Lord ‘Confides’ in us who Love Him (For if we Love Him we also Respect Him, and Fearing Him is not how we serve Him, but by Love, Faith, and knowing that He is God) When we live by these precepts, He shows us His Covenants.

Action/Coming to our Lord:

We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4: 8-9 NKJV

For God has not given us a spirit of Fear, but of Power and of Love and of a Sound mind… 2 Timothy 1: 7 NKJV

No One Is Righteous

What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. 10 As it is written:

“There is no one righteous, not even one;
11     there is no one who understands;

    there is no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away,

    they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
    not even one.”

    their tongues practice deceit.”

19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.  20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

Righteousness Through Faith

21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,  23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Seek our Lord Jesus while He may be found, for He said… Today is the day of Salvation. Come to him now, do not put off His calling as only He knows the future, an in Him you have a Future in a place of Splendor.  Go to our Green Pasture Page and accept our Lord and be assured of His Redemption.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, in Jesus we come. Lord we thank you for Your Graciousness and Your Redemption through Your Devine Crucifixion and Triumphant Resurrection. Topic: What else do you need to know about Jesus?

John 1: 1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Ephesians 1: 19-23 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Colossians 1: 15- 20 The Supremacy of the Son of God

15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Commentary: We probably have seen or heard these slogans… God is my Co-Pilot, and ‘Lord I have a great plan, all I need is for you to get behind it’.  Man since creation embarked on the road to independence from God.  We saw the response from Adam to God after eating of the forbidden fruit… He blamed it on God for giving him the woman, and we saw Eve that blamed it on the serpent.  And we then saw the movement by men to build a ‘New religion’ for themselves by attempting to build a tower to the heavens.

God made us with the ability of ‘Free-Will’ but He also taught us many of His ‘Secrets’ and Jesus gave us His Grace and by His Grace we have the Power but only in Faith we can do extra-ordinary things as it is done through His Holy Spirit.  The day of Pentecost was the day following Jesus’ ascension into heaven, as we saw the Holy Spirit descended and changed Peter who was an indecisive follower of Christ, and one could say that Peter was a ‘superficial’ believer as he denied that he knew Jesus (three times as foretold by Jesus) but on the day of Pentecost, Peter preached the gospel and the Good New of Christ’s Resurrection and three thousands came to Christ.  3,000 converts from one meeting is still unheard of today…  There were no public-address system, no multi-media Jumbotron® Television broadcast, but the Holy Sprit powered this event.

The Power of His Holy Spirit is super-natural and cannot be explained by scientific methods, but in each of our lives we have experienced events that are un-explainable. Have you ever averted a disaster that you thought ‘this is it’?  How would you like to look to your right while seated on an airplane and through the window you see a jet coming straight at your aircraft, so close you can see the face of the captain in the plane that is about to his us?  Well I am here to tell you about this, as we averted this ‘near hit’.

Principle: If we have Faith and continue in His Grace we are endowed with His Holy Spirit…

Colossians 1: 21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. 

The Tower of Babel

11 Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.

They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”

But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”

So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. That is why it was called Babel—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

Conclusion: Dispute Over Jesus’ Testimony John 8:

12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

13 The Pharisees challenged him, “Here you are, appearing as your own witness; your testimony is not valid.”

14 Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going. 15 You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one. 16 But if I do judge, my decisions are true, because I am not alone. Dispute Over Who Jesus Is

21 Once more Jesus said to them, “I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I go, you cannot come.”

22 This made the Jews ask, “Will he kill himself? Is that why he says, ‘Where I go, you cannot come’?”

23 But he continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.”

25 “Who are you?” they asked.

“Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied. 26 “I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have heard from him I tell the world.”

27 They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father. 28 So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. 29 The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.” 30 Even as he spoke, many believed in him.

33 They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”

Prayer: Father in Heaven we come in Jesus. Topic:  Was King Hezekiah’s proclamation the prelude to St. Valentine’s day?

Text: 2 Chronicles 30 New International Version (NIV)

2 Chronicles 30: 6-9

6: At the king’s command, couriers went throughout Israel and Judah with letters from the king and from his officials, which read: “People of Israel, return to the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, that he may return to you who are left, who have escaped from the hand of the kings of Assyria. Do not be like your parents and your fellow Israelites, who were unfaithful to the Lord, the God of their ancestors, so that he made them an object of horror, as you see. Do not be stiff-necked, as your ancestors were; submit to the Lord. Come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve the Lord your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you. If you return to the Lord, then your fellow Israelites and your children will be shown compassion by their captors and will return to this land, for the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him.”

Commentary: Here we see the early version of ‘Express-Mail’, when couriers were dispatched throughout Israel and Judah. Sort of like a modern day FedEx with the message of compassion (Verse 9 of Chp 30 below)

Hezekiah Celebrates the Passover with compassion for his people, inviting them to the Temple of the Lord. (Passover in 2013 will start on Tuesday, the 26th of March and will continue for 7 days until Monday, the 1st of April. In the USA, Passover ends one day later)

30 Hezekiah sent word to all Israel and Judah and also wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, inviting them to come to the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem and celebrate the Passover to the Lord, the God of Israel. The king and his officials and the whole assembly in Jerusalem decided to celebrate the Passover in the second month. They had not been able to celebrate it at the regular time because not enough priests had consecrated themselves and the people had not assembled in Jerusalem. The plan seemed right both to the king and to the whole assembly. They decided to send a proclamation throughout Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, calling the people to come to Jerusalem and celebrate the Passover to the Lord, the God of Israel. It had not been celebrated in large numbers according to what was written.

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord Jesus thank You for Your Grace and Your precepts of Love. Lord we are in awe of Your patience as we are stiff-necked and self-centered. Lord teach us to pray and as You said when we pray we should not keep on babbling with many words. Thank You Lord for You know what we have need of even before we ask. Lord  we come in Thanksgiving and Praises as only You are Holy. Lord we thank You for the many Visitors and we are privileged to serve You Lord. Lord bless us all as we seek Your Peace and Your Favors and we look to that day Lord when we shall see You as You are. Topic: The Rich and Famous, the ‘Achievers’ and where are they today?

Text: Luke 16:11

So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?

Commentary: 

The autobiographies of many famous achievers in the 20th century consist of many well-known industrialists, financiers and even politicians. Many served their own grandstanding of wealth accumulation without much care for others; some built their fortunes around exploitation of fellowmen and earth’s environment, and some made their mark in their contributions to humanity, in medicine, technology, aviation, agriculture and other things we use in our daily lives.

Today we look at D. L. Moody an uneducated man  by today’s world standards; that in faith built by the Grace of our Lord projects with the core intention of helping others and spreading the Gospel. From his humble beginning we see a broadcasting network, a Bible Institute and many building blocks along the way that benefited his fellowmen.

Man is like a Broadway show, it runs for a season, and some times they continue for several seasons, but it will come to an end. Sometimes the show comes to an abrupt ending   Even tyrants that oppress many suffers an ending and sometimes a not too comfortable ending.  So what is life? 70, 80, 90 or a hundred years.  The years of bliss and wealth will soon pass and then one must face the realty of choosing his ultimate home. 

Choosing the ultimate home is something man has never achieved.  Not too far from my home is a ultra-exclusive estate on the Bay known as Journey’s end… the average price of a home runs into million of dollars. Here is an estate designed by the former head of America’s largest aluminum mining company that spent his life accumulating wealth and endowed his wealth to a foundation that bears his famous name. His final project “Journey’s End’ was an appropriately named destination where the rich and famous gather and we hope that the gathering was in the name of our Lord.  Unfortunately, the multi-million dollar homes are just buildings being taxed by man while the former owners move on to eternity.  Our Lord Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you” and Jesus once described His abode as Paradise. 

Yesterday we spoke about the ‘Richest person in the graveyard’ and not knowing Jesus such a person is the ‘Poorest’ person in the grave. And that where the unsaved remains.  But those in Christ saved by his Grace, are considered the ‘real wealthy ones’ but is not the ‘richest person in the graveyard, why? Because their graves are empty as in the twinkling of any eye all in Christ are transitioned to the presence of our Lord.  As the Bible said, to be absent from the body and be present with the Lord.

The answer to the question above, what is life? Our Lord said be ‘fruitful and multiply’ and He said we are to bring His Good News to the ends of the earth.  So considering the brevity of life, we are told by God to use our time and make use of it and sow seeds for a bountiful harvest.  Read about the story told by Jesus of the Rich man and the beggar. Gold is considered a precious metal, and it is selling at an all time high, but instead of bricks & mortar, the Kingdom of our Lord is made from pure Gold.

There was an old movie that showed a man dying of thirst in the dessert and he had a Gold bar, then came a couple and he reach out and offered them the gold bar in exchange for a drink of water... the girl said to her friend, “look he is offering us this piece of metal in exchange for a drink of water, he apparently believes that there is value in what he is offering”.  

The movie went on to explain that gold was no longer a precious metal, and after the dying man was given a drink of water, he explain that he had stolen the Gold bars and was in prison for a very long time, but when he was released he went where he hid the Gold not knowing that it was just a another piece of metal.

Action/Coming to our Lord: As a custodian of what we receive as the Favor of our Lord, we need to continue to ‘Seek’ Him, and by Seeking Him we will ‘Love’ Him and His Love will overflow to others through us.

As Stewards we are just caretakers (Custodians) until we journey on to Glory in His presence, and this point all earthly possessions that we held are left behind.

Prayer: Father in Heaven, in Jesus we come, Lord as You have revealed that in Your Kingdom, the value of what we treasure will be of no value as there will be no need for earthly treasures, as You have made all of what we consider to be of value to be the elements of your Kingdom. No longer will there be any fear of any thief breaking in as all of what we need will be provided and You our Lord will radiate the Light with Joy and Splendor. Lord thank you for giving us a glimpse of what You have prepared for all Your followers.  Lord bless our Visitors and grant us Your peace and in awe we reflect upon Your care of your chosen ones. But Lord You have also set boundaries and we seek your guidance to stay within the boundaries to please You Lord. Commentary: Do not envy that person that you know who went on to be the town’s wealthy guy and is always in the social columns.  Look at the flipside… is he happy?  Is he heaven-bound? If the answer is no, then he is the poorest person that you can point to. Being the richest person in the graveyard means nothing as; naked we came and naked we go, we take nothing with us. One Life to Live and after that the Judgment…

Conclusion: While our Lord is a Gracious God, He is a God of Consuming Fire, as Sinners that have not repented will be separated from God and will be cast out from His sight and be in a place of perpetual suffering (yes you will be alive but never dying and ever suffering) because our Lord has given sinners over to the final death (but still never dead)  So Come to our Lord today as He said come unto Him and He will receive you and forgive you of your sin(s) and you will be a new creation in Christ.

Pray... Lord Jesus I come in Faith accepting Your gift of Salvation and chose to be alive in You by your Grace my Lord. Lord Jesus receive me as I repent of my sin and accept your great Salvation by your Blood of Atonement, and I seek Your divine guidance in  my life, to you Lord be the Glory... Amen. 

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come, Lord we come to praise You and proclaim You as our Eternal-Sovereign God. Commentary: Be in the world but not of the world…One could be in a crown of wrong-doer but not be a participant of their wrong doing…

Hebrews 13:9-16

Principle: Are you ready to serve Him, are you ready for a higher calling? Just think that even a small act as Jesus described… 42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.” (Matthew 10: 42)

His Promise / His Faithfulness:

Our Lord will choose anyone that He will transform to be His messenger. Just as He chose Matthew that became an Apostle. Matthew was a Tax collector, and He wrote the Book of Matthew. The same applies when He chose Saul the persecutors of Christians.

Conclusion:

Jesus’  ministry was to reach sinners, as we read many sought Him and He met with many ‘high-profile’ individuals, but He never participated in their agenda.  Whenever Jesus met with an individual such as Nicodemus the agenda was set by Jesus., the same when Jesus went to the house of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.

As we also look at the ones Jesus chose to be His disciples….

Matthew 10: 2-4 These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Jesus never made any demand, He came to Redeem us, His mission was His Sacrifice endowed by His Father to Die for our sins, this was prophesied 700 years before the Birth of Christ on Earth, even though Jesus-Yeshua was with God from the beginning, He had to come as a man so that we could accept Him. If He came as the all powerful God His ministry with His disciples would not be necessary, but He came and dwell among us as a commoner and not as a King. While He was ‘The-King’ He wanted to us to know Him as a Man. By His Crucifixion and His Divine Resurrection He fulfilled His Father’s mission (Isaiah 53) by being the Lamb that took away the sins of the world… and He was raised from the Dead and Ascended into heaven as The-Incarnate God. 

For purpose of clarification, it should be noted that no one has ever seen God, except Jesus because Jesus is the Son of the Trinity, and the Holy Trinity is… Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 

Jesus is God John 1, Ephesians 1 and Colossian 1 all describe the Supremacy of Jesus, there is no ‘Gray-area’ if Jesus is God; Jesus is the Incomparable Eternal-Sovereign God in One of The Holy Trinity.

He is calling us all today, and He said, today is the day of Salvation… come to Him, go to our Green Pasture Page and find our Lord.

Prayer: Father in heaven, in Jesus our Redeemer we come. Lord Jesus Eternal-Sovereign God in One of our Father, we come and Praise You Lord as You ascended to the Throne of Righteousness and intercedes on our behalf. We thank you for this day, as we focus our eyes on You, and look at the opportunity to bring You to others, and  by Your Holy Spirit to spread the fragrance of Your Salvation to many. Lord be with Your servants  as You said the harvest is plenty and we are commissioned to take the Gospel to the end of the earth. Topic: Is the sand of time slipping through the hour glass faster today?

Commentary: The Public ministry of Jesus spans a period of just Three (3) Years which made the most impact upon mankind. As we look at our current calendar we can say Christmas 2012 seems like just a few weeks ago, while we are fast approaching the end of the first quarter of 2013.  Is time being ‘condensed’ leading to a new ‘dimension’ ? Are we anticipating some dramatic event that will impact our way of life?  To many …Time is ‘slipping-by’ at a pace that eclipses our memory of our childhood that places events of just a few years ago into the history books.

The Ministry of our Lord that spanned a period of around 36 months but His ministry appears to be a Lifetime of teaching, His precepts and examples are like an entire lifetime, why? Because He is God Incarnate and His Holy Spirit lives on and those in Christ are guided by His Holy Spirit just as He said… “ and I will send you a comforter”

Conclusion:

Jesus told His disciples ... “greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends”  this is exactly what He did for us all.  Jesus also said, “we are His friends’

Commentary: Most people do, but those that don’t are really denying it because of their sinful ways.

Thoughts for today…  There’s no ‘secret-sins’  beware all things hidden will be revealed… So we must apply caution, and let the Grace of our Lord lead us by his Holy Spirit. “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23

The culture, the lifestyle, the glitz & glamour of today is on stage of most people. How many of us watch the New year’s Eve celebration at Time Square? The symbolic Ball represents the closing of the old-year and the welcoming of a new year. But right after this hoopla, everyone go back to their same routines.

As Solomon said, all is vanity… Let’s say you just got your new car and at the supermarket lot, you find the first big ‘ding’ how do we react? With some remorse of not finding that ‘safe-zone’ to park your new car.  When it comes to cars, we are protective, and when it comes to guarding our actions we are less apprehensive and pretty much go with the flow.  The latter is where we are to place our emphasis, as our walk with our Lord is more important that a box with four wheels. Why? this box will need replacing soon, but our walk with our Lord is forever as we stay the course with decorum knowing our Lord is near with us as we journey through the shadow of death and we fear nothing as He is present.

Conclusion: 

 

The invitation of our Lord is not like what we call an engraved gold printed piece of paper, the Invitation is Sanctified by the Blood of Jesus. When we accept His Gift we are inducted into an exclusive chosen community with Jesus as the Head of our lives that is now blessed by His Word… For I came that you may have life and have it more abundantly’   This defines as…our lives here and in the world to come!

Topic:  How would you like have lunch with Jesus today? At a luncheon where He is doing all the cooking and serving?

Text: Revelation 3:20

Commentary: Just think our  Incarnate God who was there before Abraham,  Jesus the Incomparable Sovereign Eternal God in One of His Holy Trinity is inviting you to dine with Him?

Looking back when Adam walked with God (This was Yeshua/Jesus) in the Garden of Eden, The Lord showed Adam the bountiful fruits and surely Adam was shown how to harvest and eat of the fruits.  As we see ‘God’ walked with Adam, but after the fall the Lord did not disassociate Himself from Adam, He killed an animal and made clothes from the skins.  This was an act that would be repeated thousands of years later; when Jesus died so that our sins could be covered with his Blood of atonement.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,  but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman.  “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.  Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”                                                                                  

Because we were created and given the ability of ‘Free-will’  Eve ventured where she shouldn’t and Adam accepted the fruit from his wife.  Notice: in the text above, neither Adam nor Eve asked for forgiveness. Rather than being sorry, they took the route of; first, Adam blamed the Lord for giving him Eve, then Eve blamed the serpent.  We will reflect back why did it take 40 years for the Israelites to travel to Canaan that is an 11 day trek? And why did they not enter and possesses the land as promised?  Just like how Abraham was tested by God asking him to sacrifice his only son that he fathered when he was 100+ years old. The Israelites were being tested and trained to become a nation. The Bible is all about Jesus (Yeshua-Yahweh)  our Almighty God that no one has ever seen except Jesus who is God Incarnate. So is our journey here on earth as a training ground as we journey to the next world.

Jesus said… “I am not of this world” John 8:23

And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

What a privilege that we can say ….What a Friend we have in Jesus!. 

Principle:  Those in Christ will not suffer condemnation, (Romans 8: 1) and His people will be caught up in the Air. Those that already passed on, are already with Him, as the Bible said, to be absent from the Body and be present with the Lord. O what a glorious day that will be.

His Promise / His Faithfulness:

The GOOD NEWS is: We are made JOINT-HEIR to the Kingdom, and His Kingdom eyes have not seen, nor can we imagine the beauty of His Paradise as Earth will be laid bare.

Conclusion: Many of us will agree that the events of this world is headed to a period of major changes as nations continue their arms building, growing religious disparities, poverty and famine in many parts of the world, and social changes parallel to the time of Sodom and Noah.  The much talks of a ‘New-World order’ and a one-world government is much like a script written in the Bible which will be fulfilled when Jesus returns. 

Mankind is reaching that climax when the dissenting nations will be united by the declaration of a higher-power, but it will be too little and too late. We are still building the Tower of Babel, as man focused on this world that is temporary.

There are many stories of  ‘Alien-power’ that may bring the world together in unity against that ‘un-known’ force; but it may be too late, as we shall see ‘The Day of the Lord’ which shall be seen from the east to the west’  when the trumpet is sounded.

Come to Him and be part of the Greatest-Gathering to come, when we see Jesus… He is coming, but His timeline is not ours. Find Him while He can be found, accept His Salvation today He is calling you and when you know Him your place will be in His Kingdom too.

Prayer: 

Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord Jesus it is a privilege to be in Your Holy presence Lord.  We thank You for the Heavenly things that you have in store for us as we look with great anticipation of the coming of Your Day Lord.  You have said eyes have not seen nor can we imagine the Splendor of Your Kingdom as You so described as Paradise. Lord let us spread this great News as You have invited everyone to be at the greatest gathering that we can ever see. Lord  let Your message be spread across this globe as we make haste to bring as many to You Lord.  Thank You for Your Wisdom and Your Providence and we thank You for the Visitors and let us all come to the Cross and know that is it empty as You are on the Throne of Righteousness. We pray in Your Holy Name Lord Jesus to You is the Power and the Glory now and forevermore… Amen.

Topic: The grass is always greener on the other side…  If you had one wish what would your wish for?

Text: Philippians 4: 12-13   12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Commentary: The human mind fueled by our instinct to conquer and pursue excellence is an in-born trait controlled by our natural instinct. 

If we had one wish, what would you wish for? Each of us has a different wish list…For the average teen the wish would be to own the most awesome car and grow up to be an Internet tycoon. I read about a little girl that came to Santa, and Santa said ‘Little girl what would you like for Christmas? The shy little girl said I would like my mom to get well. Each of our priority is different; a little boy when asked by Santa what he wanted for Christmas, this 7 year old said, I wish that my Dad will find a job, as we are in need. 

Life is a challenge for many including the conscientious children in our society.  Today many in our nation are being pushed to the brink… To these hard-pressed the ‘Grass is greener’ everywhere other than where they are.  Our Lord made us with His design of us being in a Garden of plenty, but the sin of Adam and Eve changed all this, can be blame Adam for the hardship of these kids? Yes and no; we who are favored should reach out to the needy, and if not, then we are the one to be blamed.

  • His Peace will transcends all understanding and He will guard our hearts and minds in Him Jesus our Lord.
  • Praise Him for we have Victory in Jesus our Redeemer Lives.

Prayer: Heavenly Father in Jesus we come, and we boldly acknowledge that in you Lord Jesus we have Victory and are made Joint-Heirs with you Lord.  Lord we thank You for the privilege of coming into Your Holy Presence. Lord we are in Awe that You the Incarnate God of the Father and You Lord Jesus created it all and without You there was nothing made. Lord to think that You in Majesty came to die for us and through your Divine Sacrifice we are washed in Your Blood of Atonement. Now bands of raiders from Aram had gone out and had taken captive a young girl from Israel, and she served Naaman’s wife. She said to her mistress, “If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy.”

Naaman went to his master and told him what the girl from Israel had said. “By all means, go,” the king of Aram replied. “I will send a letter to the king of Israel.” So Naaman left, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold and ten sets of clothing. The letter that he took to the king of Israel read: “With this letter I am sending my servant Naaman to you so that you may cure him of his leprosy.”

As soon as the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his robes and said, “Am I God? Can I kill and bring back to life? Why does this fellow send someone to me to be cured of his leprosy? See how he is trying to pick a quarrel with me!”

When Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his robes, he sent him this message: “Why have you torn your robes? Have the man come to me and he will know that there is a prophet in Israel.” So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and stopped at the door of Elisha’s house. 10 Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, “Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.”

11 But Naaman went away angry and said, “I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?” So he turned and went off in a rage.

13 Naaman’s servants went to him and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed’!” 14 So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.

15 Then Naaman and all his attendants went back to the man of God. He stood before him and said, “Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. So please accept a gift from your servant.”

16 The prophet answered, “As surely as the Lord lives, whom I serve, I will not accept a thing.” And even though Naaman urged him, he refused.

17 “If you will not,” said Naaman, “please let me, your servant, be given as much earth as a pair of mules can carry, for your servant will never again make burnt offerings and sacrifices to any other god but the Lord. 18 But may the Lord forgive your servant for this one thing: When my master enters the temple of Rimmon to bow down and he is leaning on my arm and I have to bow there also—when I bow down in the temple of Rimmon, may the Lord forgive your servant for this.”

19 “Go in peace,” Elisha said. After Naaman had traveled some distance, 20 Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said to himself, “My master was too easy on Naaman, this Aramean, by not accepting from him what he brought. As surely as the Lord lives, I will run after him and get something from him.”

21 So Gehazi hurried after Naaman. When Naaman saw him running toward him, he got down from the chariot to meet him. “Is everything all right?” he asked.

22 “Everything is all right,” Gehazi answered. “My master sent me to say, ‘Two young men from the company of the prophets have just come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two sets of clothing.’”

23 “By all means, take two talents,” said Naaman. He urged Gehazi to accept them, and then tied up the two talents of silver in two bags, with two sets of clothing. He gave them to two of his servants, and they carried them ahead of Gehazi. 24 When Gehazi came to the hill, he took the things from the servants and put them away in the house. He sent the men away and they left.

25 When he went in and stood before his master, Elisha asked him, “Where have you been, Gehazi?”

“Your servant didn’t go anywhere,” Gehazi answered.

26 But Elisha said to him, “Was not my spirit with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to take money or to accept clothes—or olive groves and vineyards, or flocks and herds, or male and female slaves? 27 Naaman’s leprosy will cling to you and to your descendants forever.” Then Gehazi went from Elisha’s presence and his skin was leprous—it had become as white as snow.

Commentary:

In life all ill-begotten gain will be wiped-out.  Sometimes we see those that have gained the upper hand that appears to be prospering, this could be superficial as deep down there is an inner conscience that wage a guilty feeling that gives the person a form of challenge both personally and to his circle of friends. 

The practice of one-upmanship is a commonplace application, weather in business, sports, or in the course of our daily lives, this is a by-product of the ‘Pride’ the British drama of Pride & Prejudice is a classic story of our society.  The beneficiary of goodness is ultimately the winner in the presence of our Lord.

In Biblical  history, the life of Abraham was much more than Abraham’s life-story, the period of his life when God asked Abraham to sacrifice the son that he loves, to which Abraham made the right choice by going all they way to make the sacrifice, the Lord stopped him just short of killing Isaac, and gave him a substitute by providing a Ram.  The intrinsic outcome of this event was more than testing Abraham’s faith, but thousands of years later we now see the following:

  • The Sacrifice was the Crucifixion
  • The Substitution was Jesus who died as a substitute for each of us
  • The place of this event became the grounds of the Temple
  • The Relevance of Christ’s Crucifixion and Resurrection is reflected in the Substitution of the Ram for Isaac.
  • Jesus (being the Ram) was the Substitute for us, as Jesus paid the ultimate Sacrifice for us to receive His Grace.

Principle:  For we are saved by Grace and not of anything we do…

Action/Coming to our Lord:

Guidance for Today..1 John 4:4
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 
This means that we can face our tempter by the Power of the Holy Spirit that dwells in us. We rebuke the evil one knowing that HE (Jesus) who is in us is greater than he that is in the world.

Conclusion: 

The Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose water do not fail

Prayer: 

Heavenly Father in Jesus we come. Lord Jesus we acknowledge that you were before Abraham, and through you Lord all things were made and by you all things are held together. Lord today as we go forward in Faith we are assured that Your Word never changes and Your Covenant is forever. Lord in you we have Victory and we declare in Your Name Lord Jesus that You our Redeemer Lives.  Lord we thank you for Your Graciousness and we thank you for the privilege of serving You and for the many Visitors coming to this site Lord, we ask You divine Blessings on all that call on Your Name Lord as we acknowledge that you are our Mediator between us and our Father and by your Redemption we are able to come in Your Holy Presence. Lord we pray in your Holy name Lord Jesus to You is the power and the glory now and forevermore… Amen.
